Heart-Shaped Herb

Millions of years ago, the Vibranium meteorite that fell from the sky changed the nearby plants, giving rise to a miraculous plant—the Heart-Shaped Herb.

The first king of Wakanda had found the Heart-Shaped Herb under the guidance of Bast, the Panther God, and gained the powerful strength of the Black Panther.

He conquered the tribes and ruled Wakanda. The Heart-Shaped Herb and the Black Panther became Wakanda's guardians for generations to come.

True to its name, the flower within the Heart-Shaped Herb resembled a heart. Consuming it granted strength, speed, physical prowess, endurance, and agility beyond those of ordinary humans. It was the source of the Black Panther's power, much like Captain America's Super Soldier Serum.

Every generation of Black Panther had to consume the Heart-Shaped Herb to gain these superhuman abilities. The herb symbolized Wakanda's sacred authority and status.

Wakanda, Royal Secret Garden

This was Wakanda's royal garden, as well as the place where they cultivated the Heart-Shaped Herb.

The Wakandans would pick the flowers of the Heart-Shaped Herb and crush them into liquid. The resulting herbal potion was then consumed, though this privilege belonged only to the king.

After Erik defeated T'Challa and became Wakanda's new king, he too had to drink this potion.

Whoever consumed the Heart-Shaped Herb potion had to be buried, experiencing the sensation of near-death in an oxygen-free environment.

"May the Heart-Shaped Herb grant you the power of the Black Panther and lead you into the Ancestral Plane."

Erik drank the Heart-Shaped Herb potion. The herb would bring a person to a wondrous place, where they would see deceased family and friends.
