Background / History

Qian Xunji personally attended an orphanage spirit-awakening ceremony after noticing Ban Shu's unusual maturity and close bond with Bibi Dong. He intended to assess Ban Shu's potential before deciding whether the two children should remain together. Ban Shu's extraordinary awakening, innate full soul power, and Painted Halberd immediately convinced Qian Xunji to recruit him. 1 2

He accepted Ban Shu as his personal disciple, promised him Spirit Hall's highest treatment, and allowed Bibi Dong to move into Spirit Hall with him. Soon afterward, Qian Xunji also accepted Bibi Dong—an innate full soul power wielder with twin martial souls—as his disciple. 3 5

At the Ice and Fire Yin-Yang Well, Qian Xunji consumed an immortal herb that purified the light and fire attributes within him and improved his potential. He and Qian Daoliu agreed to keep the treasure land secret, while sparing Dugu Bo in accordance with Ban Shu's wishes. 43
