Tang San's mouth twitched slightly, and he hurriedly cast those messy thoughts out of his mind.
"It's nothing, it's nothing."
He shook his head, forcing a smile as he explained, "God Realm affairs have been a bit complicated lately. I'm just a little tired; I'll be fine after resting for a while."
As he spoke, he quickly added, "Xiao Wu, you don't need to worry about me. I'm fine."
"Right, well, there are still some matters at the God Realm Committee that need to be handled. I'll head over there to get busy now."
Before the words had even faded, a flash of blue divine light streaked by, and Tang San's figure vanished from the Sea God Temple.
The entire process was extremely swift. Xiao Wu hadn't even had time to react; she stood blankly on the spot, her hand still outstretched in mid-air.
A moment later, she slowly retracted her palm, the light in her eyes dimming slightly.
Looking at the empty hall, she sighed softly.
"San-ge..."
"What exactly has been going on with you lately?"
The Sea God Temple returned to silence, save for that soft sigh which echoed in the vast hall for a long time, as if it contained an endless sense of loneliness that refused to dissipate.
Deep within the Ice God Great Rift Valley, the Snow Empress and Xu Tianyao followed that mysterious guidance, venturing deeper and deeper until they finally found the source of the anomaly.
It turned out to be a small, dark blue cold pool, with faint white mist constantly exhaling from its surface.
Just by getting close, one could tell that this thing was terrifyingly cold; if one were to fall in, tsk tsk, they would likely be frozen solid if not killed outright.
The Snow Empress frowned as she looked at the pool. "Could it really be beneath this cold pool?"
The Ice God Great Rift Valley stretched for countless miles in every direction, and this was the first time she had ever seen this pool.
In such a hidden place, it was highly probable that this was indeed the inheritance site of the Ice God.
"Human, don't move around once we go down. Stay close to me, understand?" The Snow Empress released a surge of Soul Power, wrapping Xu Tianyao entirely within it.
Without waiting for his reply, she took him and leaped directly into the cold pool, much to Xu Tianyao's horror.
After entering the pool, thanks to the Snow Empress's protective measures, the cold was present but not bone-chilling.
The true nature of the pool was finally revealed to him.
On the surface, it looked like a small pond, but inside, it was a different world entirely. It was less of a pool and more of a passageway.
This passage extended downward, filled with freezing ice water, and looking down, it seemed bottomless.
Traveling through this spatial tunnel felt strangely similar to traversing through time and space.
As time passed, the depth increased, and while the temperature dropped and the water pressure rose, the bottom of the pool remained unseen, stretching on without end.
Xu Tianyao gradually began to feel physical discomfort. He looked at the Snow Empress beside him and couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration seeing her expression remain unchanged.
As long as the Snow Empress was there, he would be safe, but the intensifying pressure and plummeting temperatures were ultimately too much for his seven-year-old body to endure.
In a state of daze, Xu Tianyao drifted into a deep sleep.
Yet, it was this sleep that caused him to miss many things; he only knew he had a very sweet dream.
He dreamed that he saw a majestic figure, though he could not make out the figure's specific features.
However, the aura radiating from that figure filled Xu Tianyao with awe.
Xu Tianyao knew this person was extraordinary and that this dream was certainly not a simple coincidence, so he tried his best to remember something.
Whether it was the scenery in the dream, the movements of that figure, or the words spoken.
In the end, he only heard a faint murmur in his hazy state: "The favor of the world's will... let me... everything for..."
The murmur was intermittent and unclear; Xu Tianyao could only remember that one vague sentence.
Shortly after, a bone-chilling cold swept over his entire body, making him shiver and finally jolting him awake from his stupor.
When he opened his eyes and saw his surroundings, he realized they had already left the cold spring and the Ice God Great Rift Valley.
They were moving just as they had when they arrived, with Xu Tianyao lying on a platform made of ice crystals, being towed back by the Snow Empress.
Seeing the human boy wake up, the Snow Empress recalled everything that had happened beneath the cold pool and the words the Ice God had spoken.
She turned her head to look at Xu Tianyao and uttered a sentence that left him completely baffled.
"Human, what exactly did you mean by that cooperation you mentioned earlier? Perhaps we can talk about it."
Hearing the Snow Empress take the initiative to show goodwill and propose cooperation, Xu Tianyao was slightly stunned before he began to explain his plan in detail.
Although he didn't know why the Snow Empress's attitude had changed so quickly, it certainly had something to do with the Ice God.
The Ice God had let the Snow Empress take him to her inheritance site, deliberately kept him from waking up, and only met him in his dreams.
Furthermore, she hadn't left behind any benefits or inheritance. Xu Tianyao had no idea what she was planning.
But for now, it seemed the other party held no malice toward him and likely supported the Snow Empress in helping him, which was enough.
Several hours later, as a sudden blizzard descended, Kong Deming sensed something unusual. He felt a familiar aura and, overjoyed, flew out from the snow cave where he had been hiding.
Seeing that Xu Tianyao had not suffered any injuries and that his complexion looked much better, yet he was still chatting with that Soul Beast, Kong Deming felt a sudden pang of anxiety.
He walked over quickly, pulled Xu Tianyao behind him, and watched the Snow Empress vigilantly.
Xu Tianyao then relayed the final result of his conversation with the Snow Empress to Kong Deming.
Having received some unknown benefit just moments ago, the Snow Empress had completed her forcibly interrupted transformation and agreed to accompany Xu Tianyao to the New Sun Moon Empire to enter human society for cultivation.
Until the Snow Empress possessed the ability to protect herself, Xu Tianyao would utilize the power of the New Sun Moon Empire to ensure her safety at all costs.
In return, the Snow Empress would find a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast in the Far North that was nearing the end of its lifespan to sacrifice itself to him, helping him break through his bottleneck.
Upon hearing this, Kong Deming looked at Xu Tianyao and the woman with the fluctuating aura in astonishment.
He had no idea what the two of them had done just moments ago to negotiate such an inconceivable partnership.
However, no matter how he looked at it, this matter was entirely beneficial and harmless to him, Xu Tianyao, and even the New Sun Moon Empire.
Not to mention the immense benefits a Hundred-Thousand-Year ice-attribute Soul Beast sacrifice would bring to Xu Tianyao.
Even after the Snow Empress transformed, her fate would be in their hands, posing no further threat; using her as the final soul ring for Tianyao when the time came was not out of the question.
Even if they did not kill her, a genius possessing the Heavenly Snow Woman martial soul and the Ultimate Ice attribute could very well reach the limit in the future.
If she grew up in the New Sun Moon Empire from a young age, she would be deeply bound to the empire.
If she truly matured in the future, it would be entirely beneficial and harmless to the empire as well.
And so, although the three people on the scene each harbored their own ulterior motives, they reached a consensus.
Once the Snow Empress summoned that Hundred-Thousand-Year Cold Moon Snow Falcon and the sacrifice was complete, this trip to the Far North would be considered a successful conclusion.
