The finalized arrangement provides for ten outstanding students from each side to study at the other academy for one year. Shrek’s attempt to establish technical cooperation with Mingde Hall was rejected. 19

Future-war Contingency Agreement

During the exchange period, Mu En and Xu Tianyao formed a confidential three-part agreement. It included Xu Tianyao’s treatment of Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire, Mu En’s personal instruction of Xu Tianyao, and a future arrangement concerning Shrek’s position in a continental war. 109

Mu En understands that the three great empires are unlikely to resist the Sun Moon Empire indefinitely and seeks to preserve Shrek’s institutional legacy in the event of Sun Moon unification.
