When her gaze met those icy, deep-blue dragon eyes, Ling Luochеn shuddered even more violently.
Her beautiful azure eyes stared in terror at the thing within the Black Death Evil Qi, her pupils shrinking to pinpoints. Her body went so rigid that she did not even have the courage to move.
Tears clung to her cheeks, and utter terror covered her wheat-colored face. Her lips parted slightly, but she could not make a sound.
And the thing within that Black Death Evil Qi—or rather, the dragon silhouette within it?
The instant he saw Ling Luochеn and met her eyes-
He moved.
His six enormous wing bones, shading from dark silver to ink-black, gave a fierce beat. His tall, gaunt draconic body emerged from the black mist, and the gust raised by his three pairs of wings scattered the surrounding Black Death Evil Qi to either side!
Dark-blue, sinister light flowed and flickered between his scales...
Those lifeless, deep-blue eyes fixed on Ling Luochеn, who sat kneeling on the ground.
Then.
He lunged straight at her.
"Aaaah-!!!"
In the overwhelming terror of possibly dying, Ling Luochеn instinctively raised both hands to shield her head.
She bent over, buried her head between her arms, and curled into a ball. Her slender body trembled like a fallen leaf in the wind, her icy fingers clutching the back of her head so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
Then she closed her eyes.
And waited.
Waited for the crushing pressure of death and the excruciating pain she imagined to descend upon her.

She waited a long time.
