Background / History

Feng Qingyang was dormant within Xue Mingqing's sea of consciousness for six years. He awakened when an Evil Soul Master threatened Xue Mingqing, briefly took control of the boy's body, refined the enemy's soul into spiritual power, and seized the enemy's storage Soul Tool. Although he can take temporary control, he states that directly possessing Xue Mingqing would cause the body to wither. 2

After stabilizing from his awakening, Feng Qingyang began acting as Xue Mingqing's mentor. His Hurricane Body Tempering cleansed Xue Mingqing's meridians and impurities, raised his innate talent to Innate Full Spirit Power, and left behind hurricane origin that evolved Xue Mingqing's Snowflake martial soul into Snow Wind. 8 9

He later demonstrated an unorthodox understanding of spirit bones, explaining that they are condensed residual energy and skill laws rather than simple physical objects. Using three spirit bones, he forged Xue Mingqing's External Spirit Bone, the Wind Snow Evil Pupil. 39

Feng Qingyang does not identify himself as a native of the Douluo world, stating only that he never claimed to be one. His past is associated with corpse refinement, soul refinement, and a lifetime of swordsmanship, but he consistently refuses to fully explain his history. 14 39

His manifested form is a soul body condensed from divine-soul origin. Ordinary forces and the plane's laws cannot readily harm it, though the ultimate cold origin beneath the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was able to injure him severely enough to draw soul blood. 224
