Pufferfish Douluo vs. Dugu Bo

Pufferfish clutched his chest, a trace of gloom flashing across his face. That green beam had pierced his defenses with precision, and the lingering Jade Phosphorous toxin still sizzled through his meridians.

He slowly raised his head and looked at the dark green figure standing in front of Yu Tianlin. The Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor Martial Soul coiled through the night sky, nine soul rings rotating slowly as dark green poisonous mist lingered around Dugu Bo.

Pufferfish narrowed his eyes and gathered his Soul Power to devour the remaining Jade Phosphorous toxin. His tone carried undisguised contempt. "So it really is you, Old Poison Monster. What, you couldn't stay put in your own territory and had to come play the hero in front of me? Too bad that body of yours has been steeped in poison for most of your life. You're still no match for me."

Dugu Bo stood in the air, looking down at Pufferfish with a cold gleam in his eyes. "Heh, no match for you? I hope you can still say that later."

The instant he finished speaking, the two figures moved at the same time.

Dugu Bo thrust out his right palm, and the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor's toxic mist condensed into a dark green giant python that lunged straight at Pufferfish's face. Pufferfish snorted coldly and made a grasping motion with his left hand. Pufferfish poison spikes erupted from his palm, tearing the venomous python into pieces.

The two clashed head-on in midair. Jade Phosphorous toxin collided with Pufferfish poison spikes, dark green and red poisons tangling together with sizzling corrosive sounds. Borrowing the recoil, Dugu Bo flipped upward and struck out repeatedly with both palms. Seven clouds of toxic mist became seven Jade Phosphorous Serpents, biting at Pufferfish's vital points from different angles.

Pufferfish struck with both hands, unleashing Pufferfish poison spikes like a torrential downpour and pinning all seven venomous snakes in midair. The two battled for dozens of exchanges in the sky, poisonous mist and poison spikes colliding again and again, neither gaining the advantage.

Pufferfish was the first to pull away, and his fifth soul ring lit up. "Fifth Soul Skill, Thorn Bone Spike." Countless dark red bone spikes emerged from the void. Each was as thick as an arm and covered in barbs, firing toward Dugu Bo in a fan-shaped barrage centered on Pufferfish.

Dugu Bo's expression did not change as his fifth soul ring lit up as well. "Fifth Soul Skill, Serpent Python Heavenly Steel Shield." The Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor opened its mouth and spat out a dark green curtain of light, which condensed in the air into an enormous shield of snake scales, runes flowing across its surface.

The bone spikes struck the shield with a dense burst of metallic clangs. The shield did not budge, and every bone spike snapped against it. The broken fragments turned into dark red powder and drifted away.

Dugu Bo withdrew the Heavenly Steel Shield, and his seventh soul ring lit up. The Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor raised its head and let out a long roar. His Martial Soul Avatar activated, and the Serpent Emperor phantom merged with Dugu Bo's body.

She Long's expression changed drastically, and his third soul ring flashed rapidly. "Third Soul Skill, Pufferfish Guardian." A dense layer of dark red poison spikes emerged across his body, their tips pointing outward and overlapping into an airtight suit of spiked armor.

Dugu Bo gave him no chance to catch his breath. In his Martial Soul Avatar state, the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor's toxic mist condensed into substance in his palm, and he slashed a claw at the Pufferfish Guardian. Dark green toxic mist and dark red poison spikes scraped violently against each other, erupting with a piercing metallic shriek.

Pufferfish was driven back a full five steps by the slash. A large patch of his poison-spike armor had been corroded black by the Jade Phosphorous toxin.

The two tangled together once more, Jade Phosphorous toxin and Pufferfish poison spikes colliding constantly in the night sky as dark green and red light intertwined again and again.

Pufferfish gradually fell into a disadvantage. Dugu Bo's attacks became increasingly fierce, every strike from the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor carrying poison purer than ever before. More and more cracks spread across the Pufferfish Guardian.

Pufferfish retreated several steps, astonishment and suspicion appearing on his face. "Old Poison Monster, how has the backlash from your toxins completely disappeared? With your former condition, how could you possibly wield your full strength? And your poison is even stronger than before."

Dugu Bo's offensive did not pause in the slightest. His tone remained indifferent. "No comment."

Pufferfish gritted his teeth and swept his gaze across the battlefield. The urge to retreat had already risen in his heart. If he did not escape today, he might truly fall at the hands of this Old Poison Monster. He feinted with Pufferfish poison spikes, forcing Dugu Bo back half a step, then turned and fled toward Suotuo City.

Dugu Bo did not pursue him. His eighth soul ring lit up, the black ring spinning in the night sky. "Eighth Soul Skill, Time Solidification." A dark green ripple spread outward from Dugu Bo. Wherever it passed, the air stopped moving, and the grass and trees touched by it remained frozen in the positions where the wind had bent them.

Just as Pufferfish was about to accelerate his escape, his body suddenly stiffened in midair. The dark green ripple passed through his body, through his skin, and seeped into him.

Time Solidification did not merely freeze movement. While the target was frozen, it injected the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor's purest toxin into every meridian in their body. Pufferfish's limbs, torso, and neck were all locked in the air like an insect trapped in amber, leaving only his eyes able to move.

The red light only forced open a few cracks before the dark green poisonous mist sealed them shut again. The red light vanished completely, and Pufferfish's body was fully enveloped by dark green toxin. Pufferfish Douluo lay stiffly at the bottom of the shallow crater. Time Solidification was still in effect, and his eyeballs trembled faintly in their sockets as he stared fixedly at the dark green figure in the night sky.

Dugu Bo did not let down his guard. He knew the resilience of a Title Douluo too well. Even if a level ninety-two powerhouse had only one final breath left, a desperate counterattack before death would still be enough to severely injure an opponent of the same level.

He hovered in midair and slowly raised his right hand, pressing it against his head. A dark green soul bone emerged from his head, crystal-clear and covered in fine snake-scale patterns. Every pattern flowed with a cold, eerie glow beneath the night sky.

A dark green beam shot from the soul bone and landed precisely on Pufferfish. The moment it touched his body, his skin began to change from dark yellow to grayish white.

Starting from his chest, grayish-white stone patterns spread outward at a visible speed, passing over his shoulders, over his neck, and over the face that still held an expression of shock. Within a few breaths, Pufferfish was completely petrified, becoming a grayish-white stone statue frozen in a struggling pose as he lay on his back in the shallow crater in the wilderness.
