As Android 17 and Android 18 rampaged through the city, the residential buildings were instantly reduced to rubble. In a building that had not yet been caught in the destruction, a couple who were visiting the city had just been enjoying a rare moment of leisure. They stood by the window, admiring the view as a gentle breeze carried a sense of peace and calm.
But their peace vanished in an instant. They suddenly spotted thick black smoke rising in the distance, billowing from the ground all the way into the sky like a monstrous black beast baring its fangs. A pungent smell began to fill the air, and the atmosphere grew tense and oppressive. The city's bustle was replaced by one explosion after another and the thunderous crashes of collapsing buildings. The ground began to tremble, as if heralding an impending catastrophe.
They sensed that something terrible was about to happen, and fear seized their hearts. The wife instinctively clutched her husband's arm, her eyes full of terror and helplessness. Her voice trembling, she asked, "W-what's going on?" The husband was just as pale, but he forced himself to stay calm and shielded her with his body. Keeping his gaze fixed on the spreading disaster, he said, "Don't be afraid. Let's find somewhere safe to hide."
Just as they turned to look for shelter, the building beneath their feet began to shake violently. Cracks appeared in the walls, the ceiling lights swayed precariously, and dust sifted down. People all around them began fleeing in panic, their shouts and screams blending together as the world seemed to sink into endless chaos and despair...
They struggled through the panic toward the stairwell, every step fraught with danger. The floor beneath them seemed ready to collapse at any moment, and the walls might come crashing down the next. But they held fast to one belief: they had to survive! Even with the unknown and darkness ahead, they would do everything they could to escape this sudden nightmare...
They raced down the stairwell, dodging chunks of debris that fell from above and nearly struck them. The husband held tightly to his wife's hand, feeling his way down with only the faint light and his memory to guide him.
At last, they reached the ground floor, but the sight before them made their hearts sink. The streets were littered with rubble and filled with panicked crowds. Vehicles were scattered everywhere, some engulfed in flames. The disaster wrought by the Androids raged nearby, flames shooting into the sky and explosions rumbling without pause. Thick smoke had shrouded the heavens in darkness.
Suddenly, a huge figure emerged from the smoke. It was Android 17. His icy gaze and overwhelming presence seemed to make the air itself freeze. The couple stared in horror at this demonic being, their bodies trembling uncontrollably. The husband put his wife behind him. Though fear filled his eyes, they also held a trace of resolve.
Just as Android 17 was about to launch another attack, a flash of light raced toward them from afar. Gohan had arrived. Seeing the devastation before him, he burned with anger. He immediately clashed with Android 17, and the powerful shockwaves swept outward, nearly knocking the couple off their feet.
During a lull in the battle, the husband saw a glimmer of hope. He took his wife's hand and ran toward the edge of the city. Along the way, they saw countless injured civilians and destroyed homes, and grief filled their hearts. But they knew they had to escape first if they wanted to survive and find a new hope and peace.
After running for what felt like ages, they finally reached the outskirts of the city. The explosions and sounds of battle gradually faded behind them. The couple collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath. Overcome with relief at having survived, they clung to each other and wept, tears soaking their clothes. The future was uncertain and confusing, but they were alive—and that alone was a blessing amid misfortune.
Gohan dodged Android 17's fierce punch, his eyes blazing with anger and disbelief. "How can you be so indifferent to human life? Every person has a reason to exist and their own worth. You have no right to treat them like ants to be crushed!"
Android 17 snorted, a scornful smile on his face. "Worth? To me, these fragile lives are nothing but the trash of this world. It makes no difference whether they exist or not." As he spoke, he pushed off hard with both legs and leaped high into the air. He spun around and kicked at Gohan, his leg cutting through the air with a rush.
Gohan crossed his arms to block, but the force sent him stumbling back several steps, his feet carving deep grooves in the ground. "You're wrong! Humans may be weak, but their emotions, their dreams, and their love of life are the most precious things in this world. What you're doing is a desecration of life!" Gohan shouted. His energy began to surge violently, and golden flames blazed around him. He prepared to counterattack with even greater force. He had to make Android 17 realize his mistake and stop this pointless slaughter.
Gohan's gaze grew more resolute. He knew the enemy before him was powerful and merciless, but his determination to protect innocent lives made him fearless. "If you insist on being so stubborn, then don't blame me for holding back!" Gohan roared and shot toward Android 17 like lightning.
He threw a rapid flurry of punches, each one packed with tremendous force. The wind from his blows tore through the air with a crackling roar. Android 17 refused to back down, his arms moving swiftly as he blocked Gohan's attacks with precision. The two figures darted back and forth through the ruins, sparks flashing whenever their fists and feet collided.
"Hmph. You think you can stop me with skills like that?" Android 17 taunted. Then he spotted an opening and suddenly swung an elbow toward Gohan's chest. Gohan reacted quickly, leaning back just enough to avoid it as he kicked toward Android 17's head. Android 17 hastily raised an arm to block, but the tremendous force still sent him staggering back several steps.
Gohan gave Android 17 no time to catch his breath. He quickly brought his hands together before his chest and gathered a massive energy sphere. Its dazzling light illuminated the darkness around them. "Take this! This is for everyone you've hurt!" Gohan shouted, hurling the sphere at Android 17 with all his might. Its tremendous energy made the ground tremble.
As the energy sphere came roaring toward him, Android 17's lips curled into a disdainful smile. He swiftly moved his hands, forming an energy barrier before him and easily blocking Gohan's attack. The sphere exploded the moment it struck the barrier, sending up a cloud of dust and smoke.
