Just before reaching the phantom, Goku Black leaped high into the air, his right fist wrapped in black flames as he brought it crashing down toward the phantom's head like a black meteor. The blow was heavy and forceful, tearing through the air as if it could split space itself.

Facing the oncoming Dark Kamehameha, Goku Black's attack, it neither dodged nor retreated. Its hands moved rapidly, and its incantation grew ever more urgent.

The already crumbling ruin vanished in an instant beneath the force, and even the surrounding space was shattered, forming enormous spatial whirlpools that devoured everything nearby.
Both Goku Black and the phantom were hurled away by the powerful recoil. Goku Black flew through the air like a broken kite, smashing through several layers of spatial barriers before crashing down into a desolate void. His body was riddled with wounds, and blood poured from them, staining the surrounding void dark red. Yet the fire of defiance still burned in his eyes as he stared fixedly toward the phantom.
The phantom was in no better shape. Its light had grown extremely dim, and its body had become indistinct, as if it might vanish at any moment. Yet it managed to steady itself with the help of that mysterious, ancient power. It looked at Goku Black with a complicated expression, both surprised by his tenacity and worried about the outcome of the battle.
"Why are you so obsessed with this power? Don't you know it could bring utter destruction to the entire universe?" The phantom's voice had grown weak, but it still asked firmly.
Goku Black struggled to his feet and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. With a cold laugh, he said, "What do I care if the universe lives or dies? I know only that with absolute power, I can control my own fate and make everyone who once looked down on me grovel at my feet!"
With that, Goku Black ignored his wounds and gathered dark energy once more. His eyes were filled with madness, as if he had fallen into an obsession he could no longer escape.
