Madness and resolve showed in his eyes. He stamped down hard, his whole body shooting toward the illusory figure like a bolt of black lightning.
As Goku Black sped forward, dark energy surged around him, merging with the blades in his hands and making the Martial Drill Blade and Qi Blade Slash ever more powerful. Sharp whistling filled the air as the blades sliced through it, like the whispers of demons, chilling to the bone.
"Die!" Goku Black roared, appearing before the illusory figure in an instant. He raised both blades high, then hacked downward. Two black arcs of light, like enormous black dragons with bared claws, lunged at the illusory figure.
The strike held all of Goku Black's fury and strength, as though it would cut everything before him to pieces.
The illusory figure felt the immense threat of the attack and didn't dare let its guard down. Blue light raced around it, forming a sturdy defensive barrier. At the same time, the illusory figure chanted an incantation, and a mysterious rune flew from its mouth and merged into the barrier, strengthening its defenses even further.
"Boom!" The two black arcs slammed into the blue barrier with a deafening crash. The impact shook the surrounding space violently, and cracks spread rapidly in a web-like pattern.
Black energy and blue light intertwined and clashed, erupting in a blinding flash that made it impossible to look.
Under the force of the impact, the illusory figure staggered back several steps, but its defensive barrier remained as solid as a rock. Goku Black's combined twin-blade attack had failed to break through.
"Hmph. You think you can beat me with a trick like that?" the illusory figure said coldly, a hint of mockery in its voice.
At those words, Goku Black's fury burned even hotter. He roared and swung the Martial Drill Blade and Qi Blade Slash again, launching a storm of attacks. His figure darted around the illusory figure so quickly it dazzled the eye. Every strike brought a fierce black arc of light, like a bolt of black lightning, relentlessly chopping at the blue defensive barrier.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The barrage of impacts rang without pause, and the entire space was engulfed by the tremendous force. Under Goku Black's frenzied assault, fine cracks began to appear in the illusory figure's defensive barrier, growing more numerous and wider by the moment.
Seeing the barrier develop cracks, Goku Black was delighted. He knew his chance had come. He gathered all his strength, preparing to unleash a deadly attack.
Goku Black took a deep breath and poured all the dark energy in his body into the blades in his hands. The Martial Drill Blade and Qi Blade Slash blazed with light, black energy surging over them like a swelling tide.
Resolve shone in his eyes. He could already see the illusory figure defeated before him.
"This time, you're dead!" Goku Black roared. He leaped forward and thrust both blades viciously at the illusory figure's defensive barrier. The strike held all his strength and hope. It was an all-or-nothing attack.
"Crack!" With a sharp snap, the illusory figure's defensive barrier finally buckled and shattered under Goku Black's combined twin-blade attack. The black blades cut through as if nothing stood in their way, stabbing straight toward the illusory figure.
By then, Goku Black was on the verge of collapse, but he still managed to stand. He staggered as he walked, his eyes fixed on the illusory figure.
Goku Black swayed as he walked, but still forced himself onward, staring at the illusory figure as if he could pierce it with his gaze. Then he began powering up continuously, his aura surging like a raging tide.
His aura grew stronger and stronger. The already crumbling space shuddered ever more violently under the pressure, and fine spatial cracks spread and crisscrossed.
The black energy around them seemed to be summoned by some immense force, rushing in from every direction. Like black serpents, it swirled around Goku Black before pouring into his body. Under the impact of this energy, his body crackled, as if every bone and muscle were being painfully reforged.
"You've made me mad!" Goku Black roared at the illusory figure, his voice filled with boundless fury and indignation. He threw his head back and kept shouting, "Yaaaah!" His cries echoed through the void like thunder. With each roar, the energy bursting from his body grew more violent. Black flames formed a massive vortex of energy, drawing everything around him into it.
Watching Goku Black change, the illusory figure felt a strong sense of unease. It knew Goku Black was recklessly digging into his own potential, trying to unleash power beyond his limits. But it also knew it bore the responsibility of protecting the universe and couldn't retreat even a step. So the illusory figure gritted its teeth and raised its mysterious power to its limit. Blue light completely enveloped its body, radiating a dazzling, sacred brilliance in stark contrast to the evil black energy surrounding Goku Black.
Goku Black continued powering up. His eyes were completely swallowed by black light. His reason seemed to have been utterly consumed, leaving only a frenzied craving for power and deep hatred for the illusory figure.
At that moment, he seemed to have become a demon god from the depths of darkness, ready to destroy everything in the world and remake it.
"Die!" Goku Black suddenly opened his eyes and fired a beam of black light—the Qi-Shattering Wave—that cut through the void like a blade. He flashed forward and vanished from where he stood, appearing before the illusory figure the next instant. He raised his right hand high as black energy condensed wildly in his palm, forming a massive black energy sphere. It held enough power to destroy stars, and he hurled it viciously at the illusory figure.
