Incompetent Resistance

The pirate captain knew they couldn't withstand this attack. He closed his eyes in despair, tears sliding down his cheeks. "Brothers, I'm sorry..."

The energy ball slammed into the shield with a deafening boom.

The shield shattered under the immense force, breaking into countless points of light that scattered across the cosmos. Then the energy ball's power surged forth like a raging tsunami, sweeping over the entire planet.

The pirates didn't even have time to scream before the dark energy swallowed them. Their bodies gradually disintegrated under its impact, reduced to stardust. The pirate band that had once roamed the cosmos with impunity met a painful end beneath the Mysterious Person's attack, wiped from existence.

The Mysterious Person gazed at the ruins before him and smiled with satisfaction. "A bunch of ants, daring to challenge my authority. Next is the Interstellar Alliance..." With that, he became a streak of black light and flew toward the Interstellar Alliance headquarters, leaving behind a dead planet and an endless dark cosmos—a portent of the greater crisis about to descend.

Like black lightning tearing through the silence of space, the Mysterious Person raced toward the Interstellar Alliance headquarters.

Dark energy surged wildly around him as he went. The asteroids he passed were caught in its terrifying force and instantly ground to dust, their fragments scattering like sand into the far reaches of space.

The atmosphere inside the Interstellar Alliance headquarters was so tense it was almost suffocating. Powerful energy-monitoring equipment detected the Mysterious Person's approach, and piercing alarms rang throughout the various sectors. The Alliance's senior officials convened an emergency meeting. In the conference room, everyone looked panicked as they talked over one another, trying to decide what to do.

"This Mysterious Person is far too powerful. Our previous estimates were completely wrong. What do we do?" An elderly, white-haired councilor's hands trembled, his voice thick with fear.

"No matter what, we can't just sit back and wait to die! Gather all our combat forces immediately and activate the highest-level defense protocol!" The Alliance's supreme commander looked grim but resolute as he issued the order.

In an instant, the defense turrets surrounding the Interstellar Alliance headquarters sprang to life, and the energy shield began to rise, glowing pale blue. One starship after another rushed in from various bases and formed a tight battle formation. The soldiers stood ready, their weapons fully charged, waiting for the enemy to enter firing range.

The Mysterious Person soon reached the defensive perimeter around the Interstellar Alliance headquarters. Seeing the countless starships and gleaming defenses before him, he burst into a wild laugh. "You think this can stop me? How ridiculous!" With that, he swept his hands through the air, sending dark energy surging toward the Interstellar Alliance's defenses like a raging tide.

The Interstellar Alliance commander saw this and immediately ordered, "Fire!" In an instant, countless cannons roared, and beams of energy and missiles streaked toward the Mysterious Person like a torrential rain. But he didn't dodge or evade. Dark energy formed an unbreakable shield around him, blocking every attack. The light from the collisions illuminated the entire expanse of space.

"Hmph. Is that all you've got?" the Mysterious Person sneered, increasing the flow of dark energy. A gigantic black vortex took shape between his hands. Its tremendous suction instantly dragged several nearby starships inside. The vessels twisted and warped in the vortex before finally being torn to pieces.

The Interstellar Alliance soldiers went pale at the horrifying sight, but they didn't retreat. One starship after another charged forward, determined to get close to the Mysterious Person and find his weakness. Yet his power was simply too great, and every attack inflicted heavy losses on the Interstellar Alliance.

As the battle dragged on, the Interstellar Alliance's defenses began to show gaps. Under the relentless assault of the dark energy, the energy shield grew dimmer and dimmer, on the verge of breaking at any moment. The commander was frantic. He knew that if this continued, the Interstellar Alliance would face total destruction.

The Interstellar Alliance's starships faced the enemy like soldiers on the brink of death. Their beams of energy, carrying the desperation of a final gamble, fired wildly at the Mysterious Person. But the dark shield around him was unbreakable. Every beam vanished the instant it struck, reduced to useless streaks of light.

"How can this be? Our attacks aren't doing anything!" a young soldier stammered, his face filled with terror and disbelief. He stared at the energy readings on the control panel, which hadn't changed at all, his hands trembling uncontrollably.

"Increase firepower! Keep firing!" the commander roared, veins bulging in his forehead as beads of sweat rolled down his face. He stared at the Mysterious Person's image on the screen as if he could burn him with his gaze.

"Sir, our energy output has reached its limit! If we keep this up, the starships' power cores will overload and explode!" The technician looked close to tears as he turned anxiously to the commander.

"We can't worry about that now! If we don't give it everything we've got, we're all going to die!" The commander gritted his teeth, fists clenched so tightly they cracked. His eyes were bloodshot, filled with despair and fury.

Across the battlefield, starship after starship was struck by the Mysterious Person's dark energy. Explosions flared one after another, turning the expanse of space red. The crew cried out in despair, their voices fading into the endless darkness.

"Mom, I'm so scared..." A new recruit's tearful cry came over the communications channel, sounding utterly helpless amid the roar of artillery.

"Don't be afraid, kid. We'll fight together!" an old soldier replied, but his voice trembled slightly, betraying his barely concealed fear.

"What kind of monster is this Mysterious Person? We're no match for him!" another soldier shouted in a breakdown, pounding the console wildly, tears of despair filling his eyes.

As the commander watched starship after starship get destroyed, despair grew like weeds inside him. His hand fell limply to his side, and for the first time, a flicker of doubt crossed his eyes. "Could it be... that we're really going to lose?"

Just then, the Mysterious Person burst into delighted laughter. His laughter echoed through the communications channel like a blade, shattering the Interstellar Alliance's last hope. "Your resistance is meaningless. Just accept your deaths!" With that, he gathered a gigantic ball of dark energy between his hands. It rotated slowly, radiating a chilling aura, as he pushed it toward the Interstellar Alliance headquarters. Space warped beyond recognition in its path, and even the stars dimmed beneath its power.

The Interstellar Alliance personnel stared at the energy ball drawing closer, their hearts utterly consumed by fear.
