Background / History

Tang San inherited the Sea God's position and ascended to the God Realm approximately ten thousand years before the novel's present era. Despite the stated rule that gods must not interfere with lower realms, he continues to intervene in the Douluo Plane. 2

He established a surveillance blockade around the Douluo Plane to monitor its Sea of Destiny, suppress uncontrollable variables, and conceal the effects of Ah Yin's descent to the lower realm. The barrier intercepts exchanges of information between the Douluo Plane and the God Realm. 104

Tang San considers the Douluo Plane his possession and seeks to control its future. He identifies Huo Yuhao as the era's Son of Fortune and arranges for his daughter to approach him, intending to shape and control him. 2

Schemes on the Douluo Plane

• Huo Yuhao — Tang San regards him as the Son of Fortune and a potential threat to his control of the plane. He arranges circumstances intended to control, brainwash, and transform Huo Yuhao. 2
• Wang Dong'er / Tang Wutong — Tang San splits his daughter's soul, leaving Wang Dong'er with an incomplete portion while retaining Tang Wutong's memories and primary personality. 76
• Wang Qiu'er — A further separated portion of Wang Dong'er's soul enters the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and ultimately becomes part of Wang Qiu'er. 76
