Personality
Du Weilun initially judges students according to their demonstrated cultivation potential. Once he witnesses its abilities, his reserved manner gives way to excitement and an eagerness to establish its limits 6 7 9.

Investigating Song Mu’s Martial Soul
Yan Shaozhe summons Du Weilun after Song Mu’s martial soul fully awakens. Having already reviewed the student’s file, Du Weilun is assigned to determine the soul’s abilities so Shrek can decide how to cultivate him. Yan explicitly forbids him from probing the circumstances of the awakening, and Du agrees 6.
Du summons Song Mu to his office and explains that sufficiently exceptional talent could earn consideration for a future Shrek Seven Devils lineup. He then takes him to the Beast Fighting Zone and asks Elder Gong to assist with practical testing 7.
After Elder Gong restrains a hundred-year Wind Spirit Wolf, Du witnesses Song Mu successfully capture it. He asks whether the beast can be released and is surprised to learn that Song Mu can also command it in battle 8.
Testing and Reporting His Findings
Du invites Song Mu to order the Wind Spirit Wolf to attack him, then blocks its claws with one hand. Excited by the result, he asks about simultaneous combat control, total capture capacity, and the age limit of capturable beasts. Together with Elder Gong, he accompanies tests involving beasts from the hundred-year range up to four thousand years 9.
Song Mu tells them that the special beast inside his King Ball can grow by absorbing energy obtained when other captured beasts are released.
