Background
Lie Xu was reborn on the Douluo Continent after dying in his previous life while saving a little girl from an out-of-control vehicle. He spent six years in Spirit City as the grandson of Lie Yan, Spirit Hall’s Fourth Offering and Lion Douluo. 1
His parents died after following the previous Pope in the pursuit of Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Emperor. His mother returned with his father’s body, gave birth to Lie Xu while mortally wounded, and died soon afterward. Their deaths taught Lie Xu that strength was necessary to protect both himself and those close to him. 1
After recovering his past-life memories at age two, Lie Xu began deliberately building his foundation. He studied martial souls in Spirit Hall’s library, arranged for whale glue to be safely combined with medicinal herbs, and trained alongside Qian Renxue using a physical training method adapted from his previous life. 1
At age six, he awakened the Nine Spirit Primal Saint and rejected Bibi Dong’s offer to become Spirit Hall’s Holy Son and future Pope. He instead declared his intention to forge his own path and pursue a realm beyond godhood. 3 4
Appearance
At six years old, Lie Xu is taller and physically stronger than his peers due to long-term body tempering, medicinal nourishment, and whale glue. 1 2
- Wears a white robe with gold-patterned cuffs, collar, and hem; an orange-red lion is embroidered across its shoulders. 2
- Gains a vertical pupil between his eyebrows after Yue’er’s sacrifice. 16
- His aura becomes profound, ethereal, divine, and compassionate after fusing with the Eye of Fate. 16
- Can summon Xiao Jiu as a palm-sized golden lion with fluffy fur; its full manifestation is a massive golden lion accompanied by eight smaller lion-head phantoms. 4 16
Personality
Lie Xu is ambitious, self-directed, and unusually mature for his age. He refuses political prestige when it conflicts with his personal goals, believing that anything he desires should be earned through his own efforts. 4
His pursuit of power is rooted in loss and protectiveness rather than simple status. He seeks strength to safeguard those around him—particularly Qian Renxue—and intends to surpass the gods rather than merely inherit a divine position. 1 5
He is calm under pressure and tends to approach conflict strategically. He uses soul power perception to search for hidden treasures, waits for favorable timing before attacking powerful prey, and privately welcomes dangerous challengers as tests of his strength. 8 24 7
