Background

Lei Zhan cultivated the Second Primordial Spirit by splitting his soul in two and possessing a Golden Crow Egg found in the Golden Crow Cave Mansion. The process was dangerous: an insufficiently strong soul could dissipate during division, causing madness or permanent damage. Lei Zhan’s exceptional divine sense and soul strength allowed the separated soul to merge cleanly with the egg through the Second Primordial Spirit Secret Technique and Soul and Body Unification technique supplied by Fairy Wangshu 67.

The possessed egg gestated for nine years before hatching. The Second Primordial Spirit emerged as a golden-robed youth identical to Lei Zhan, though with a more domineering bearing; in its true form, it was a Three-Legged Golden Crow. Unlike most Second Primordial Spirits, which can only cultivate Qi Refining, possession granted it the ability to follow both the Qi Refining and God-Devil Body Refining paths 67 69 73.

Its Golden Crow nature granted it innate fire-oriented abilities, including Solar Golden Rainbow and Floating Light and Gliding Shadow. Lei Zhan nevertheless chose the Crimson Bright Nine Heavens Map over the more naturally suited Ten Thousand Suns Burning Heaven Art, deciding that a single chosen path was preferable to indecision 67.

After Patriarch Bodhi permitted it to leave Fangcun Mountain, the Second Primordial Spirit roamed the Three Realms to temper its Dao heart for the Heavenly Tribulation. Its experiences and insights were shared immediately with Lei Zhan’s original body, allowing one to cultivate or travel while the other gained the same comprehension 121 145.

The Woodcutter later gave it the Golden Crow Demon Emperor’s True Blood. Refining the blood elevated its lineage until it became comparable to the purest Three-Legged Golden Crows; it subsequently completed its transformation into a pure-blooded Golden Crow at the Solar Star 122 171.

After cultivating the Eighteen Taowu God-Devils, it divided into eighteen incarnations for warfare, exploration, and cultivation. It later merged those incarnations, left behind a seed incarnation in the Three Realms, and departed alone into the Endless Chaos.
