Li Yunjing lightly traced the lines of the ancient formation with his finger, a faint seven-colored glow rising from his fingertip.
As he moved, the once-dim formation lines began to flicker, as though new life had been breathed into them.
"This formation is profound, but it has fallen into disrepair over the years, and its spirit stones are exhausted. It won't be hard to break through."
As he spoke, Li Yunjing took several low-grade spirit stones from his Storage Ring and swiftly replaced the top-grade spirit stones that had crumbled to dust.
"Rise!"
At his soft command, the ancient formation flared with dazzling light—though the light was pitifully weak.
An invisible force pushed aside the surrounding silt, revealing a deep, dark opening.
As for the formation's defenses, powered only by low-grade spirit stones, they were laughably weak. The attacks it unleashed struck Li Yunjing with barely more force than a tickle.
Li Yunjing and Fu Chao peered into the opening. Far below, they could make out the outline of a magnificent palace steeped in an ancient aura.

"Let's go in and have a look."
Li Yunjing pointed inside. "But we should be careful. Since that Old Devil used information about this palace as an important bargaining chip, it clearly isn't an ordinary place. I doubt what's inside will be peaceful."
Fu Chao nodded, collected himself, and stepped into the opening with Li Yunjing.
They followed the dark passage forward. Ancient images covered the walls on either side, depicting all manner of scenes from antiquity.
There were demon beasts, ferocious beasts, divine beasts, and scenes of human life.
