Sikong Jing captured Lan Zhuanghe and the Ninety-Six Legion by using the Ninety-Nine Legion’s reserve camp to divert them into a trap at Ninety-Six Castle. Lan Zhuanghe remained confident that Yan Shun would protect him, while Sikong Jing turned to the captured deputy generals and questioned their loyalty.
Sikong Jing forced the Ninety-Sixth Legion’s commanders into submission by threatening their families and making them stab Lan Zhuanghe. After taking control of the legion, he ordered the Ninety-Nine Legion to rest for an hour before attacking the Ninety-Eighth Legion.
Sikong Jing led Lan Zhuanghe’s forces to seize five castles overnight to draw Yan Shun and the Long Night Black Burn Army’s commander-in-chief to Ninety-Six Castle. Beigong Xianfeng arrived to reward Lan Zhuanghe, while Sikong Jing prepared to confront him and ignored Yan Shun’s summons.
Sikong Jing revealed that the Ninety-Nine Legion had captured five cities and castles under Lan Zhuanghe’s name to lure Beigong Xianfeng to Ninety-Six Castle. Yan Shun discovered the deception and threatened Sikong Jing’s people, while Beigong Xianfeng watched from outside.
Beigong Xianfeng arrived in time to stop Yan Shun from killing Sikong Jing, then condemned Yan Shun for abusing his authority and trying to steal the Ninety-Nine Legion’s achievements. He offered Sikong Jing a place in the Long Night Black Burn Army in exchange for Lan Zhuanghe, but Sikong Jing revealed his zero martial root, leaving everyone stunned by his innate eighth-level Martial Scripture Realm.
Sikong Jing refused Beigong Xianfeng’s offer to join the Long Night Black Burn Army, while Beigong condemned Yan Shun and ordered Lan Zhuanghe handed over to the Ninety-Nine Legion. Cao Yi delivered Beigong’s orders to the fortress, where Ning Jingjing was promoted to general of the Sixty-Sixth Legion.
Sikong Jing learned that Beigong Xianfeng had appointed Ning Jingjing to command the Sixty-Sixth Legion and suspected the promotion was a test of his abilities. After Sikong Jing dealt with the opposition in Ninety-Nine Town, fifty thousand warriors from the Ninety-Sixth Legion arrived seeking him.
After learning that the Ning Family was forcing Ning Jingjing to leave the army and apologize to the Qian Family, Sikong Jing led eighty thousand Black Armor Warriors to the Long Night Imperial Capital, saying they would reason with the family. At the Ning Family gates, the Qian Family staged a public plea for justice, and Dowager Lady Ning emerged to face them.
Ning Jingjing admitted to killing Qian Jingsui and refused to apologize, despite Dowager Lady Ning ordering her punishment. As the Ning Family prepared to beat her, Sikong Jing arrived and challenged them.
Sikong Jing led eighty thousand Black Burn Army warriors to the Ning Family residence and threatened the Qian Family after Dowager Lady Ning refused to release General Ning. The chapter ended with Dowager Lady Ning facing pressure to decide whether Ning Jingjing would remain in the army.
Old Madam Ning agreed to release Ning Jingjing after Sikong Jing revealed that she commanded the Sixty-Sixth Legion, but then ordered the Ning Family to kill him. As Ning Jingjing threatened to take her own life to protect him, Sikong Jing produced a token bearing the character “Qin,” leaving the Ning Family facing an unknown consequence.
Sikong Jing forced the Ning Family to release his people by invoking Qin Heng’s authority, then left with Ning Jingjing and the Long Night Black Burn Army. He announced an auction for Many-Boned Beast blood, but as the army departed the capital, experts from Long Night Star Luo Palace arrived to confront him.
Sikong Jing confronted Mentor Wang and more than twenty Star Luo Palace students who sought to kill him for a chance at becoming inner palace students. After Sikong Jing killed one Martial Soul Realm student with a single punch, the others attacked more cautiously, and he unleashed his demonic skill.
Sikong Jing slaughtered the Star Luo Palace students and forced Mentor Wang to surrender his Bright Crystals and token by threatening to summon the ancient demon dragon. Still short of the one hundred thousand Bright King Crystals he needed, Sikong Jing sought a loan from Wen Hu, who could offer only one thousand.
Sikong Jing sought Bright King Crystals from Lang Yisuo, only to find him ostracized by Gold Dragon Mountain students after their successful challenge of the mountain road. As Sikong Jing proposed challenging another road together, Yan Hedan and his companions barged in to demand money from Lang Yisuo.
Sikong Jing exposed Yan Hedan and his companions for manipulating Lang Yisuo into giving them Bright Crystals. When Yan Hedan attacked, Sikong Jing dodged behind Lang Yisuo, who struck Yan Hedan unconscious with a slap.
After Lang Yisuo knocked Yan Hedan unconscious, Sikong Jing helped him embrace fighting back and offered to guide him through the remaining mountain roads in exchange for Bright King Crystals. They began climbing Dark Dragon Mountain Road, where someone called out Lang Yisuo’s name from behind.
Sikong Jing and Lang Yisuo continued challenging Dark Dragon Mountain Road, dragging Dark Dragon Mountain students into its punishing stages as they advanced. Sikong Jing entered the third stage to comprehend a second dragon vein, while Lang Yisuo followed behind him.
Sikong Jing completed the Dark Dragon Mountain Road challenge with Lang Yisuo and reached the peak of the Martial Scripture Realm. Mistaken for challengers, they faced Dark Dragon Mountain students, and Sikong Jing defeated Senior Brother Hu before charging into the crowd to spur his cultivation toward another breakthrough.
Sikong Jing defeated dozens of Dark Dragon Mountain students, broke through to the Martial Body Realm, and left with Lang Yisuo. Baili Que revealed that Sikong Jing was a student of Drunken Dragon Mountain, while the defeated students and instructors struggled to accept how easily he had beaten them.
Sikong Jing returned to Holy Dragon Town to exchange more than twenty Star Luo Palace tokens for points, but Tao Yue and her followers confronted him outside the Mission Hall. After Sikong Jing effortlessly trampled a Thunder Dragon Mountain trainee, he considered challenging Tao Yue for points, then decided the reward was too small.
Sikong Jing defeated Tao Yue with his Dark Dragon Fist, prompting Thunder Dragon Mountain's chief Inner Palace student, Lei Zizhen, to confront him in the Mission Hall. Lei rejected Sikong Jing's challenge to settle the matter in the Combat Hall and demanded that he kneel and cripple himself or be forced to his knees.
Baili Que intervened when Lei Zizhen bullied Sikong Jing and the apprentices in the Mission Hall, then slapped Lei Zizhen and forced him to leave. She revealed that she had acted because she knew Sikong Jing and demanded that he repay her favor.
Sikong Jing collected points in the Mission Hall by exchanging Star Luo Palace badges, bringing him closer to the ten million he needed for his mission. He left to check on Lang Yisuo and prepare to challenge another mountain path, while Baili Que noticed the mission reward had risen to 6.4 million points.
After reaching the second level of the Martial Body Realm, Sikong Jing met Baili Que, who had accepted his mission to obtain information about the Blackforged Darkhook Dragon. They agreed that he would share the information and she would retrieve the Thousand Cold Red Lotus Core, leaving Baili Que listening as he explained how demonic beasts could become possessed.
