Sikong Jing defeated Tie Ti'er in Army-Slaying War Chess after Granny Kui and Old He drove off Yang Li’s group with their Emperor Martial Stage power. As Sikong Jing left with the chessboard, Old Xiu and the other old men recognized the Qianyuan Battle-Killing Formation and suspected he might be their boss’s successor.
Granny Kui and Old He separately interrogated Yang Li about Sikong Jing, each hoping he was someone they were searching for, but both concluded he was not. After Yang Li fled, Granny Kui returned to confront Old He about his identity.
Old Xiu revealed that Su Old Devil’s son and granddaughter were alive and sent the fat old man to protect them, while he and Old He planned to find Sikong Jing and test him as a possible disciple. Granny Kui then told Tie Ti'er what she had learned about Sikong Jing.
Tie Ti'er left Bright Dragon Stronghold determined to train harder and challenge Sikong Jing again, while Yao Yuzhi prepared to confront him at the Tyrant Heaven Chamber of Commerce. Sikong Jing and his companions were brought before the gathered parties, where a Fury Flower Squad member secretly warned him to confess.
Yao Yuzhi tried to settle the dispute by having Sikong Jing admit that his brutal retaliation against the Beautiful Flower Battle Team had gone too far. Sikong Jing refused and challenged the team to prove that the Shadow Moon Rat had ever been in his courtyard, leaving the hall stunned and Yang Li furious.
Sikong Jing appeared to be trapped when the Shadow Moon Rat emerged and testified that it had been in his courtyard. He forced the rat to call him Boss, then revealed that it was his pet and argued that the Beautiful Flower Battle Team had tried to steal it, leaving the hall with his guilt in doubt.
Sikong Jing was cleared of blame after revealing that the Shadow Moon Rat was his pet, but Yang Li threatened revenge once he reached Chaos-Shaking City. Before Sikong Jing departed, Hua Lidian knelt and asked him to deliver an apology and jade pendant to Meixi’s mother at the Yao Family.
Hua Lidian told Sikong Jing why he had abandoned Hua Meixi and her mother, and asked him to deliver a jade pendant and help the Yao Family if danger came. Hua Meixi rejected her father's account, and the chapter ended with Yao Yuzhi probing Sikong Jing's consciousness sea.
Yao Yuzhi tested Sikong Jing’s Spirit Platform Sea of Consciousness and discussed his unusual potential, then warned that Yang Li and Yang Hua might pursue him over the Shadow Moon Rat. Sikong Jing studied the rat’s meridians before traveling with Yao Yuzhi and the others to Chaos-Shaking City, while Ju Dan vowed to avenge Ju Hua.
Sikong Jing arrived in Chaos-Shaking City and followed Yao Yuzhi to meet the eastern region’s highest Tyrant Arbiter over Ren Dongmeng’s death. While waiting outside, he discovered a Battle-Killing Diagram hidden in the ancient tower’s wall and became trapped in its successive battlefield challenges.
Yao Yuzhi and Hua Meixi asked Duanmu Chun to protect Sikong Jing from Tyrant Fierce Venerable, but his contribution and abilities initially seemed insufficient. Duanmu Chun finally offered Sikong Jing a chance to prove his worth by testing him with the Tyrant Soul Endgame illusion.
Yao Yuzhi pressed Duanmu Chun to protect Sikong Jing if he passed the fourth stage of the Tyrant Soul Endgame, only for Sikong to reach the fourteenth and then fifteenth stages on his own. Duanmu Chun was forced to reconsider his promise while Sikong, trapped in the endgame, grew irritated by its impractical challenges.
Sikong Jing used his Beast Slaughter Array to wipe out both armies in the Tyrant Soul Endgame and unexpectedly solved it, earning a Tyrant Soul Token. After leaving the illusion, he found Duanmu Chun questioning how he had entered it and downplaying its value, while Ying Lutu defended the endgame.
Duanmu Chun said he would declare Sikong Jing innocent but would not protect him from a retrial by Tyrant Fierce Venerable unless he obtained a Tyrant Soul Token. Sikong Jing unexpectedly acquired the token, forcing Duanmu Chun to promise to protect him.
Sikong Jing explained how he obtained the Tyrant Soul Token, prompting Ying Lutu to test the Tyrant Soul Endgame himself. Duanmu Chun agreed to protect Sikong Jing, while Yao Yuzhi defended her belief in his character and potential.
Duanmu Chun struggled to appraise Old Xiu’s Black Jade Fragmentary Diagram and learned that someone in the Eastern Tyrant Branch had once deciphered part of it. Old He and Old Xiu hoped the appraisal would draw Sikong Jing into solving the diagram, giving Old Xiu a chance to test his talent and character.
Sikong Jing returned to Zero Courtyard District, learned he would soon be cleared of Ren Dongmeng’s death, and began choosing a battle team with his companions. He advanced several beast techniques to Spirit Grade and reached the fourth level of the Golden Body Realm.
Sikong Jing advanced his Blood Devour Demon Claw and reached the Fifth Golden Body Realm, making it possible for him to regrow his severed arm. Before he could restore it, he joined the new battle-team selection, where Commander Li Feng ranked recruits by their battle physiques.
During the team draft, blind captain Yang Yi let a chosen recruit refuse and invited others to join the Heavenly Wolf Team, which outsiders mockingly called the Heavenly Cripple Team. Only an injured young man stepped forward, and the story left the team walking away together as a critic explained that its members often ended up crippled.
During the team selections, battle physiques were eagerly recruited while the top-three non-battle physiques were mocked and ignored. Just as they were about to choose teams, Yang Li stepped forward to address Li Bajue.
Yang Li warned the battle-team captains not to recruit Sikong Jing, claiming he had offended Tyrant Fierce Venerable. Nearly every captain refused to accept him, leaving only the Raging Flower Battle Team, the Heavenly Wolf Team, and the Martial Cry Battle Team before Jin Liwu also rejected him.
Sikong Jing joined Yang Yi’s Heavenly Wolf Team after other captains rejected him, and Yang Yi threatened Yang Li to protect his new recruit. Chou Zhan also left the Martial Cry Battle Team to join them, while Nan Xiu asked to be expelled so he could follow Sikong Jing.
Sikong Jing joined the Heavenly Wolf Team with Chou Zhan and Nan Xiu, then revealed that he could regrow his severed hand. He offered to share his secret art only if everyone who had supported Yang Li slapped her, leaving Li Feng and the gathered teams facing his demand.
Sikong Jing defied Arbiter Li Feng after joining the Tyrant Heaven Chamber of Commerce, and Li Feng warned that trouble awaited him. As Yang Yi led him to the First Courtyard District, he explained that the Heavenly Wolf Team survived by taking on the dangerous work others avoided.
Sikong Jing and the new recruits arrived at Heavenly Wolf Courtyard, where the veterans welcomed Chou Zhan and Sikong Jing with a rowdy drinking session. The chapter left Sikong Jing explaining that he killed a Tyrant Heaven executive because she intended to sell his secret.
