Background / History

The clan held a public Clan Gathering in which its disciples competed and Lin Yan's earlier defeat of Lin Hong had already become widely known among the membership 18.

The Lin Clan faced repeated external threats in Flame City. The Lei Clan attacked while Lin Zhentian was absent, prompting Lin Yan and Lin Dong to lead the defense; Lin Yan took responsibility for confronting Lei Bao, while the clan guards fought Lei disciples 74. The Blood Garment Sect later demanded Ironwood Manor's Yang Yuan Stone mine and the beast responsible for Gu Ying's death, threatening the clan's survival 86.

Following its conflicts with rival forces, the clan absorbed former Xie Clan territory and later relocated. The relocation was completed in just over half a month, with Xia Wanjin selecting a broad new territory for the clan 71 114.

The clan subsequently traveled to Great Flame Prefecture to participate in the Main Family Clan Competition. Its branch-family representatives were initially treated with contempt by the main family, but Lin Yan and Lin Dong forcefully defended the branch's honor against its disciples and elders 225 226. Lin Yan's victory over Lin Langtian enabled the family to return to the main clan, an achievement credited to him by its members 228 229.
