Su Li pulled a tissue from his pocket and wiped his hands. "No."
This woman's hands were always steady when she chopped meat—she could split out even the marrow inside a bone without damaging it. But the force she was using today was clearly fueled by towering anger. She was venting.
"Who pissed you off?" Su Li kicked aside a broken plank blocking his path.
Saina stood up and tossed the ribs into a basin of water to scrub them. "No one pissed me off. I was careless myself."
"Elonore!" Su Li shouted straight toward the outside.
The little elf girl was passing by with two basins of washed fruit. Startled by the shout, she gave a shudder and hurried inside. "What is it?"
"Go ask around in the side hall. Find out who was talking to Saina just now."
Elonore nodded like a pecking chick, put down the fruit basins, and ran out.
Saina wiped the water from her hands with a rag, clearly growing anxious. "It really is nothing. Stop making a fuss. So many people are coming tomorrow—what bad luck it'd be if everything turned into a mess."
"Someone shits on your head, and you're still worried about a crooked wedding-character decoration?" Su Li dragged over a stool and sat down.
Less than ten minutes later, Elonore dragged the long-faced female etiquette officer into the back kitchen.
The elf girl might have been timid, but her fourth-tier strength was no joke. She had dragged the officer across the ground the whole way, leaving her gorgeous skirt filthy and even pulling off one of her shoes.
"Su Li, I found out it was her. She said Saina was lowborn, ate like a brute, and couldn't be brought into polite society." Elonore tossed the officer straight onto the floor.
