They answered and scattered:
Using the keen senses of the Hell Spirit Cat, Zhu Zhuqing carefully inspected the hidden compartments in the walls;
Ning Rongrong flipped through the ledgers on the table, trying to find clues between the lines;
Liu Yuxi examined the ornaments in the room, her fingertips brushing over every crevice that might conceal something;
Xu Chengye got straight to work, knocking over the bedboards and cabinets to check for hidden compartments.
Shen Lian stood in the center of the room as his divine sense slowly spread out, sweeping through every corner.
A moment later, Shen Lian's gaze settled on the broad wooden bed—at the joint between the bedboard and frame, there was a faint trace of Soul Power fluctuation.
Shen Lian stepped forward, hooked his fingers beneath the edge of the bedboard, and exerted a little force. With a crack, a section of the bedboard flipped up.
Beneath the board was not empty space, but a palm-sized wooden box.
Shen Lian picked up the box and opened it. Inside lay only a yellowed thread-bound book.
He opened it and found four crudely drawn maps tucked between the pages. Their edges had been worn fuzzy, clearly from being frequently handled.
"Found it."
Shen Lian raised the maps in his hand.
The others hurried over.
Zhu Zhuqing leaned closer, pointed at three of the maps, and said:
"These have markings for islands and reefs, along with little notes like 'three left, five right' and 'the cave appears at low tide.' They look like treasure maps."
Shen Lian nodded.
"They are indeed treasure maps. Judging by the marked locations, these should be places where Sea Tiger hid stolen goods over the years."
His
