Background / History
Liu Yuxi is the granddaughter of Liu Zhen, the Liu Clan’s master and the Sun-Moon Empire’s Soul Tool Research Institute dean. Her Healing Green Lotus Martial Soul and Innate Full Soul Power made her an exceptionally valuable healer for the empire. 90
She grew up as Shen Lian’s childhood friend, frequently visiting the Shen Mansion, following him around, and using her Martial Soul to create petals for him. Shen Lian’s elders later proposed a betrothal between them, both to unite their families and to ensure that Shen Lian would have a powerful healer beside him during war and his God Trial. Shen Lian accepted the arrangement. 90
After months apart, Liu Yuxi reunited with Shen Lian in the Imperial Garden. She discovered Zhu Zhuqing’s lingering scent on him and confronted him directly. Though hurt, she refused to end the engagement and secured Shen Lian’s promise that Zhu Zhuqing would be the only other woman in their relationship. 96 97
Recognizing the compatibility between her Healing Green Lotus and the Goddess of Life’s inheritance, Shen Lian offered Liu Yuxi the chance to undertake the divine trials. She accepted immediately and became the Goddess of Life’s inheritor. 97

Despite this initial insecurity, she is compassionate and accommodating. She welcomes Zhu Zhuqing as family, proposes that they watch over Shen Lian together, and later befriends Ning Rongrong when the latter arrives in the Sun-Moon Empire. 104 187
She is diligent in cultivation and eager to improve as a healer. Her enthusiasm is especially evident when Bi Ji offers to teach her healing techniques and assist in developing a self-created Spirit Skill for her second divine trial. 97 128 129
