"Cough, cough... You... you're a bully..." Xiao Wu clutched her stomach, unable to catch her breath or speak a complete sentence for a moment, and could only glare at him with grievance.
Zhao Linchuan stopped looking at her and turned his gaze toward Wang Sheng and the others, who had been watching in a daze. He raised an eyebrow. "What about you lot? Do you want to see whose fists are bigger?"
"No, no, no! Boss! You are our boss!" Wang Sheng and the others were startled, shaking their heads like rattles as they hurriedly pledged their loyalty.
What a joke; even Sister Xiao Wu had been beaten so miserably, how could they dare to harbor any other thoughts?
"Since there are no objections, then disperse. Go do whatever you were doing, don't crowd around here."
Zhao Linchuan waved his hand, and then, to the astonishment of the group, he flipped his wrist. As if performing a magic trick, a neatly folded, eye-catchingly vibrant "macho pink" comforter appeared out of thin air in his hands.
He carried the bright bedding, which looked completely out of place in the work-study dormitory, toward an empty bed by the window.
"Boss! Let me! Let me help you make the bed!"
A quick-witted work-study student immediately stepped forward, grinning from ear to ear as he took the bedding from Zhao Linchuan and nimbly began to spread it out.
The soft texture, the thick filling, and the almost blindingly bright pink made the student click his tongue in wonder.
"Boss, your quilt is really thick and huge!"
"This color... uh, it's truly unique, very eye-catching!"
Zhao Linchuan smiled noncommittally and watched from the side.
After a long while, Xiao Wu finally stood up slowly, clutching her still-aching chest.
She looked at the bare surface of her own bed, then snuck a glance at the fluffy, soft, and incredibly warm-looking "macho pink" comforter on Zhao Linchuan's bed, her small mouth pouting high.
After hesitating for a moment, she moved lightly to the side of Zhao Linchuan's bed, tilted her small face up, and blinked her large eyes.
"Um... your quilt is so big, can... can I sleep with you?"
After saying this, she seemed to feel it was a bit too direct and quickly added, "Just sleeping! Share a bit of the quilt with me!"
Zhao Linchuan didn't even lift his eyelids. "The bed is too small, it can't fit two people."
"We can push the two beds together!" Xiao Wu's eyes lit up, as if she had found the perfect solution.
Without waiting for Zhao Linchuan's agreement, she immediately turned around and pushed her own hard wooden cot over, shoving it against Zhao Linchuan's bed with a loud "clatter."
Then she turned back, pressed her palms together in front of her chest, leaned forward slightly, and looked at Zhao Linchuan with those watery, large eyes full of "pleading," drawing out her tone.
"Plea--se--? I don't have any bedding, it's so cold..."
Zhao Linchuan watched her exaggerated acting, which still held a touch of childish innocence, and remained silent for two seconds before finally sighing "helplessly" and standing up.
"Since you're already at this point, can I even say no?" He pointed to the joined beds. "Tidy it up."
Xiao Wu immediately beamed. "You got it!"
[Mission complete...]
A cold broadcast sounded in Zhao Linchuan's ear, and just then, the dormitory door was pushed open, and a black-haired boy with a gloomy expression walked in.
He spotted Zhao Linchuan standing by the bed at once, his brows knitting tightly together. He gave him a complex look, then pressed his lips into a thin line and walked silently toward another empty bed.
Seeing a newcomer, Wang Sheng remembered the rules he had just been "taught" by Xiao Wu, and looking at their new boss, Zhao Linchuan, he felt his chance to shine had arrived.
He immediately jumped out, blocked Tang San's path, and puffed out his chest. "New guy, do you know the rules of Dorm Seven?!"
Tang San paused, looked up at him, and spoke in a calm tone, "What rules?"
Wang Sheng pointed at Zhao Linchuan and said loudly, "The rules of Dorm Seven: whoever has the biggest fists is the boss!"
"According to the rules, you have to fight the boss first!"
Hearing this, Tang San's gaze shifted abruptly to Zhao Linchuan. The gloom in his eyes turned into sharp, cold light as he said coldly, "Fine!"
Zhao Linchuan cursed Wang Sheng inwardly for being a meddlesome fool with no sense of the situation, but his expression remained calm.
He looked at the battle-ready Tang San and said, "If you want to challenge me, according to the 'rules,' you must first prove you have the qualifications."
"Wang Sheng is the previous... uh, let's call him the temporary boss. Beat him first, then we'll talk."
Tang San's gaze swept over Wang Sheng, who still had bruises on his face. He showed no contempt, only nodded calmly. "Fine."
The process was almost identical to the original story, though because Wang Sheng had been easily defeated by Xiao Wu earlier and had witnessed Zhao Linchuan's power, he felt insecure and performed even worse.
Meanwhile, Tang San harbored a grudge against Zhao Linchuan, so his strikes were a bit heavier.
After only a moment, Wang Sheng was lying on the ground clutching his stomach, unable to get up for a while.
Tang San pulled back, turned around, and locked his gaze onto Zhao Linchuan like a nail, saying coldly:
"Your turn! If you lose, you must apologize to my teacher and become his disciple!"
The instructions Yu Xiaogang had given him before fainting from blood loss, combined with that lingering resentment, made Tang San particularly furious at Zhao Linchuan's "rudeness."
Just as Zhao Linchuan was about to answer, the system's notification arrived quietly—
[Detected current plot node 'Establishing Authority in Dorm Seven'. Son of Destiny (Pseudo) Tang San has challenged you, intending to restore his teacher's reputation.]
[Choice mission triggered:]
[Option 1: Avoid his edge. Take a step back, and the world will be vast.]
[Reward: Corpse-Rotting Bone-Melting Powder *1 (colorless and odorless, essential for home and travel), System Points *50,000]
[Choice Two: Avoid his edge? Who does he think he is?]
[Reward: Sow Gone Wild *1 (extraordinary effect, use with caution), System Points *50,000]
As expected of the protagonist, delivering points right on time, Zhao Linchuan sighed inwardly, though his expression remained indifferent.
He looked at Tang San and said, "Fine. However, if you lose, you have to take over all the daily chores assigned to the work-study students for this semester."
"Including but not limited to sweeping the campus, cleaning the restrooms, moving supplies... How about it?"
Tang San was brimming with confidence, convinced that his Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect techniques were far superior to those of these ordinary children, and he agreed without hesitation: "Deal!"
The moment the word "deal" left his lips, Tang San's figure slid out like a ghost. His footwork was profound, closing the distance in an instant as one hand reached silently toward Zhao Linchuan's ribs, a faint glow shimmering between his fingers.
He was fast, but Zhao Linchuan's reaction was faster!
The moment Tang San moved, Zhao Linchuan casually pulled his right fist back to his waist. It looked like a simple charging motion, but a layer of warm, yellowish-white light suddenly rippled across the surface of his fist.
There were no flashy moves, no mysterious footwork. Just as Tang San's fingertips were about to touch his clothes, Zhao Linchuan's right fist blasted out straight like a cannonball!
The movement was simple, direct, and ferocious!
It was so fast that everyone present saw nothing but a yellowish-white afterimage!
