Geography and Spiritual Ecology

The Primordial Land is an immense ancient world shaped by powerful Earth Veins, innate spiritual energy, tribulation remnants, and the forces of the Heavenly Dao. Its wilderness is dangerous even to immortals, with ordinary regions capable of concealing fierce beasts, damaged ley lines, or destructive Sha Qi. 1 7 17

• Nameless Low Mountain — A remote, spiritually thin mountain located countless billions of miles east of Mount Buzhou. Its inconspicuous nature initially makes it an overlooked backwater. 1
• Mount Buzhou — The pillar supporting the Primordial Land; its destruction later tears apart the heavens and destabilizes the world. 80
• Earth Veins and ley lines — Circulate innate earth spiritual energy through the land. Severed veins can poison the surrounding environment with Sha Qi, while restored veins revive barren soil and vegetation. 7 11

History

Early Era and the Dragon-Han First Tribulation

In the early Primordial era, innate divinities were widespread and the strongest cultivators could reshape the world through battle. The Dragon Clan ruled the four seas, the Phoenix Clan commanded the birds, and the Qilin Clan held dominion over the beasts. Their struggle for fortune and territory escalated into the Dragon-Han First Tribulation, staining rivers with blood and devastating the land. 1 3

The conflict followed the earlier Fierce Beast Tribulation. Remains of fierce beast kings continued to pollute the world long after that era, producing Sha Qi and damaging Earth Veins. 7

Restoration of Earth Veins

The world rewards acts that restore its damaged foundations. Purifying Sha Qi transforms it into innate spiritual energy, while reconnecting severed ley lines restores local spiritual circulation and allows barren land to recover. 6 11

After Lu Changsheng reconnects a damaged ley line, the Heavenly Dao manifests nearly a thousand miles of golden merit clouds as a reward. 11 Later tribulation damage again tears apart Earth Veins beneath Nameless Low Mountain, spreading Earth Core Poison Fire until the breach is repaired. 42 43

End of the Dragon-Phoenix Conflict

The later stages of the Tribulation of Measure leave the Primordial Land scarred by broken skies, violent Sha Qi, ruined spiritual veins, and widespread destruction. Battles between Dragon and Phoenix powerhouses can erase years of restoration work in moments. 41 42 44

Following this period, Hongjun attains Sagehood. Purple mist, heavenly flowers, and golden lotuses appear throughout the land as he summons beings with sufficient affinity to hear his teachings at Purple Heaven Palace. 57

Rise of the Witch and Demon Races

After the older clans decline, the Primordial Land enters another age of contention. Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi gather demons beneath the heavens, while the Twelve Ancestral Witches rise from beneath Mount Buzhou. 63

The resulting conflict between the Demon Heavenly Court and the Witch Race spreads across the world for hundreds of thousands of years, destroying immortal mountains, blessed lands, and countless cultivators. 79

Collapse of the Heavens

The Witch–Demon war culminates in a world-ending disaster when Mount Buzhou breaks. The firmament tears open, and chaotic currents and Heavenly River Weak Water flood the Primordial Land, submerging vast regions. 80

Nuwa ultimately repairs the sky with five-colored stones, while the limbs of a Black Mysterious Turtle become new pillars supporting the four poles. The floodwaters recede after the breach in the firmament is sealed. 81

Later Ages

After the sky-mending catastrophe, the Primordial Land undergoes further tribulations. The Immortal-Slaughtering Sword Array later shatters it into the Eastern Victory Divine Continent, Western Cattle Joy Continent, Southern Jambudvipa, and Northern Kuru Continent. 81

As spiritual energy steadily thins, immortals and divine beings fade from the human realm. This period becomes known as the Age of Dharma Decline. 81

Heavenly Dao and Merit

• Heavenly Dao Merit is granted for restoring the world, including purifying Sha Qi, repairing Earth Veins, and preserving the land during catastrophes. It can be converted into cultivation and manifests as golden light or clouds. 6 11 43 81
• Great Dao Merit is a purer, higher-order origin associated with Pangu's creation of the world. It differs from Heavenly Dao Merit and is described as existing above the Heavenly Dao in some respects. 24
• Harming an embodiment of Great Dao Merit may provoke the laws of heaven and earth to send Purple Heaven Divine Lightning against the offender. 1 16
