Ye Chen looked up, wanting to ask Su Ningwei what she thought. He wondered if she'd be interested in taking part.
Su Ningwei was holding up her phone with a smile in her eyes, too. "A-Chen, I think this Time Concert: Happiness Chronicles sounds pretty good. How about we sign up?"
"Sure. I was thinking the same thing," Ye Chen replied, his eyes smiling, too.
Their unspoken understanding, both of them arriving at the same idea, lifted Ye Chen's spirits even more. This must be the happiness people talked about when they married the right person.
Su Ningwei smiled and stood up. "I'll be busy starting tomorrow. What would you like for lunch? I'll cook it for you myself."
"Can I order whatever I want?" Ye Chen asked with a grin.
Su Ningwei gave him a playful smile. "Of course. With your recipes and all your careful teaching, I'm so good now it's scary. Order whatever you like."
"Then I really will. How many dishes should I order?" Ye Chen asked with a smile.
He remembered when he and Su Ningwei had first gotten together. She'd been a rich young lady who couldn't even fry an egg properly. Who would've thought she'd be ready to cook whatever he ordered now?
Ye Chen felt as though he'd watched his lovely wife grow into a capable cook.
Su Ningwei smiled. "Go ahead, hurry up. I'll show off my cooking skills."
"Okay, then I'll pick a few challenging dishes," Ye Chen said with a smile.
Su Ningwei nodded. "No problem. Order anything."
"Frog with pickled chilies?" Ye Chen asked.
Su Ningwei looked completely relaxed. "Sure!"
Ye Chen asked again, "Sweet-and-sour ribs?"
Su Ningwei folded her arms, looking utterly confident. "Easy."
Ye Chen looked at her adorable, self-assured expression and asked with another smile,
