Tony Stark had no idea that the computer in his home had already been hacked. Jarvis was now introducing everything about the mansion to Mo Fei. Other than the unmonitored bathrooms and bedrooms, Mo Fei could see everything here clearly.
When Mo Fei saw Tony Stark swinging a sledgehammer himself, he was not surprised in the slightest. That guy was capable of it. But after admiring Tony Stark's mansion, it was time for Mo Fei to say goodbye. This was not yet the time for him to settle down and study. Preparations had to begin as soon as possible—the sooner, the better!
Mo Fei said to Jarvis, "My friend, I need to leave now. There are many things waiting for me to do. Once I am finished, I will come back and continue learning with you!"
"Of course. But are we 'friends'? I cannot comprehend the meaning of that word. I only understand it in the literal sense!" Jarvis's logical reasoning program was still very immature, though he was already formidable in other respects. This gave Mo Fei hope—the hope of learning quickly.
Jarvis's database was enormous. Tony Stark had sufficient funds and resources, but Mo Fei had no time to make use of them. His desire for money had reached its peak. Everything needed money to get started.
After leaving the mansion, Mo Fei returned directly to Jennifer's computer. The girl seemed possessed, frantically searching for every job she could possibly do. Unfortunately, the start of school was not far off, and no one was willing to hire an hourly worker for only a dozen or so days. Jennifer's thinking had fallen into a fixed pattern. She wanted to earn some money and ease her father's burden, nothing more!
Mo Fei was utterly indifferent to this. He could barely be considered a person now, so what right did he have to sympathy? To become human, he had sworn that he would stop at nothing. It was not merely something he said. At their core, both of them had fallen into their own fixed ways of thinking.
Using this place as a relay point, Mo Fei headed to the local telecommunications company once more. He used it as a relay because he was afraid of getting lost in the network, which would waste a considerable amount of time.
"Now let me see just how good Tony Stark's data processing system is." Mo Fei had long since taken control of this place, so returning this time was familiar territory. He immediately began monitoring all the landline calls in New York, and countless voices came pouring in at once. The voices became signals that Mo Fei collected and sent directly into his brain's storage area, then into the data analysis area. Throughout this process, Mo Fei blocked the information from his own thoughts and simply waited for the results. The keywords were "robbery" and "bank," though the two words were not necessarily together.
He searched for them separately because he was afraid he would not find anyone. There should be people planning such things, but they could not possibly be too widespread. So he separated the terms and searched for potential candidates.
If they had such thoughts, Mo Fei did not mind giving them a little push. Even so, there was still quite a lot of information after processing. The word "robbery" appeared very rarely, only a few dozen times, and most referred to street muggers or police. Only one involved robbing a bank. The word "bank," meanwhile, appeared far more often, so Mo Fei sent those results back to the data processing area.
This time, he filtered out certain things. The keywords were specialized financial terms such as "deposit," "loan," and "authorization," directly eliminating all normal banking business. When the results came back again, Mo Fei received some rather useful information.
However, this information was extremely dangerous. Most of it involved shady dealings. Mo Fei gained a general understanding of American banks, though not a favorable one. These people were like monsters that fed on human marrow!
"What a 'heavenly' country. It suits an existence like me perfectly!" Mo Fei mocked, then locked onto a target. The information came from a conversation between two people.
"Jack, I've bought the guns!"
"Jerry, keep them hidden carefully. Tonight, we'll go to your house. Roy and I need to practice, at least enough to know how to use them! Also, the person who sold you the guns does not know what we are planning, right?"
"Of course not. How could I go around telling people about robbing a bank?"
"You just said it now. Fortunately, you're at home. Remember, don't say a single word outside!"
"Got it. I'll wait for you at home tonight!"
That was all they said, but the information made Mo Fei happy. "Someone really is planning to rob a bank. I thought I would have to wait, but news came so quickly. Still, are you qualified candidates?" Mo Fei would not blindly settle on them. Although they were the only ones so far, he could not expect bank robberies to happen every day, could he?
After determining the two men's phone numbers, Mo Fei directly looked up their addresses. This was very simple. Landlines required registered addresses, and the telecommunications provider naturally had them. Since Mo Fei had already taken control here, obtaining them was effortless.
Then a strange expression appeared on his face. One of the addresses was actually Jennifer's home. He had stayed there for several days, so he naturally knew the exact address. In particular, he had seen the red envelope Jennifer brought into her room clearly through the camera.
"Jennifer's father is actually the mastermind?" It was easy to tell from the information just now, but it would be better to observe a little longer. So how should he observe?
Mo Fei had never seen Jennifer's father enter her room. During the few days he had been there, he had not seen Jack himself either. That meant he could only go near the man's address. "Looks like I'll have to hack into the city's traffic system!"
New York was an international metropolis, but not every district was equally developed. Whether there were surveillance cameras around the two addresses was still unknown. And the surveillance systems of some shops might not even be connected to the internet. Therefore, it was very important to first use the traffic system's surveillance facilities to observe the areas around both addresses.
Mo Fei was now rather confident about hacking into the traffic system, because Jarvis had never contradicted him. That made him even more confused about his own existence, but it also gave him much greater confidence.
This time was also very simple. The New York Traffic Control Center had plenty of landline numbers, and so did its official website. The website contained comprehensive information on every road in New York. Mo Fei came here and directly downloaded a copy, which was important to him as well. Then he entered the control center's main switchboard and took control of the place.
The enormous traffic control center was filled with staff members. In the command hall, an entire wall was covered by screens. From here, they could see every street in New York with surveillance facilities, though they usually watched the main roads and intersections, the places with the heaviest traffic flow.
