During Wu Zhangkong’s one-on-one tournament, Xie Xie recognizes the gulf between himself and Gu Yue and forfeits rather than fight her elemental control 20. Lin An later identifies the hidden requirement for awakening Xie Xie’s Dragon of Time and Space bloodline: he must absorb a ten-thousand-year space-time-type soul beast 25.

Lin An funds Xie Xie’s future spirit souls, then spends seven hundred million Federal Credits to acquire the Empty Cicada specifically for Xie Xie’s “possibility” 37 50. The absorption succeeds despite the ring far exceeding a Level 20 Soul Master’s theoretical limit, awakening Xie Xie’s bloodline and transforming his combat potential 50.

After the awakening, Xie Xie’s former flustered attraction toward Lin An disappears. He comes to regard Lin An as an adoptive father and later as the teammate he can trust with his back 93 96 148.

Following the Class Advancement Tournament and the Holy Spirit Cult’s attack on Eastsea Academy, Xie Xie is assigned to the newly formed elite Class Zero alongside his former Class Five teammates and three former Class One opponents 187 210.

Personality

Xie Xie projects a cold, arrogant image, but Lin An’s appearance initially leaves him conspicuously flustered. He is expressive, gossipy, and quick to insert himself into the personal conflicts between Lin An, Gu Yue, and Tang Wuling 2 3 94.

He has enough self-awareness to concede when hopelessly outmatched, yet he can also be impulsive in battle. After stabbing an opponent, he attempts a dramatic blood-licking flourish, only to recoil in disgust when he realizes where the blood came from 20 180.

His defining trait becomes loyalty to Lin An. Xie Xie is deeply affected by Lin An’s willingness to invest in him, calls him “Godfather” or “Adoptive Father,” and treats their relationship as a bond of trust rather than attraction 50 96 148.

His confidence after gaining a second ring can turn into overconfidence: Wu Zhangkong later criticizes him for initiating a team fight instead of scouting or seeking an opening. Xie Xie also has a practical, commercially minded side, arguing for automated mechas and using a Battle Armor lesson to advertise his family’s workshop while worrying about cultivation expenses and the five hundred million he owes Lin An 212.
