Kill Him!

As the words left his mouth, Gavin dove into the driver's seat of the Tyrannosaurus.

Eugene scrambled into the back seat, shoved aside the large backpack made of bundled blankets, and grabbed his shotgun before rolling down the window.

"Fuck that shit, chase him! I'm going to knock his teeth out!"

Cursing, Eugene leaned his upper body out of the window, his shotgun aimed toward the distance.

Without a scope, he could only vaguely see the McLaren weaving through the oak-lined path in front of the villas, charging into the residential roads and heading straight for Highway 283.

At the same time, Gavin slammed on the gas, the Tyrannosaurus roaring as it belched black smoke.

"Old Mac, keep up!"

He shouted this final instruction to Madison, who had already dived into the driver's seat of the RV, before charging into the circular ramp.

Seeing himself falling dozens of meters behind Gavin, Madison floored the accelerator and shouted to William.

"Officer, watch the windows! Doris, take the kid and hide—get into the bathroom!"

As he spoke, the RV swerved into the roundabout at high speed, the intense centrifugal force sending Doris and Winnie tumbling to the floor.

William braced himself against the sofa, pulled Winnie up, and pointed to the floor.

"Crawl! Just crawl!"

Following William's advice, Doris and Winnie wobbled their way to the shower stall, shut the door, and began to pray nervously.

Meanwhile, as Gavin exited the roundabout, he glanced at the rearview mirror and eased off the throttle.

Once the RV appeared in his mirror, Gavin maintained a distance of nearly thirty meters in front of it, accelerating in tandem.

Plunging into the Rich District, Gavin strained to look toward the villa area through the blur of passing buildings.

Eugene, eyes locked on the McLaren ahead, shouted from the back seat.

"Fuck, that asshole just hit the main road!"

"That means the zombies are going to flood the main road, too!"

As Gavin replied, a few zombies were already visible along the roadside.

Seeing this, Eugene pumped his shotgun, roaring, "You just worry about driving! I'm going to turn this shitty Rich District into a total war zone!"

With that, he shoved his gun out the window, aiming at a Land Rover parked on the side of the road.

Noticing Eugene's move, Gavin barked a warning, "Put that gun down! Don't you dare fire—we aren't the zombies' primary target right now!"

"Can't you hear that McLaren still firing? He's the one they're after! We just need to punch through this horde before they block the road, and we'll be safe!"

"If you pull any more stunts and make us the primary target, I'll let the little cop cry over your corpse!"

Gavin kept his left hand on the steering wheel and used his right to draw his Python, leveling the muzzle at Eugene's head.

Eugene froze for a split second, then spat a glob of phlegm out the window.

"Pah! Don't point that thing at me, fuck! Just tell me what to do, then!"

With that, Eugene retracted his shotgun, glaring to the left with a face full of resentment.

Gavin holstered his pistol, keeping one eye on the road ahead and the other on Eugene in the rearview mirror.

Although there were a few zombies on the right side of the road, the main horde in the Rich District was still concentrated on the left, surging in a diagonal line toward the main road.

Gavin was less than three hundred meters from the horde.

The horde, in turn, was only about forty-five meters from the main road.

Watching the zombies draw closer to the path, Eugene paced restlessly.

After forcing himself to stay quiet for a few seconds, he slapped his shotgun in frustration and asked, "Do we really have to take this risk? Damn it, if that bastard in the McLaren wants to run, let him! Once he's gone, we can lure the zombies away!"

"And then what?"

Gavin retorted immediately.

"We just follow in his wake and clean up the mess they leave behind?"

"Don't forget, the Rich District isn't our last hurdle. Further ahead is the Cosca airport, then Richard Town and the Lakeside Hotel District!"

"I can control our actions so we don't end up blocking the road ourselves."

"But if that McLaren keeps going, I have no idea what kind of trouble he'll stir up..."

Rat-tat-tat!

Crash...

Gavin's words were cut short by gunfire and the sound of shattering glass.

He stared wide-eyed to his right; two large holes had suddenly appeared in the windshield of the Tyrannosaurus, and bullets had even punched through the passenger seat.

"Fuck!"

Gavin's hands instinctively jerked on the steering wheel, causing the Tyrannosaurus to sway twice.

"Shit!"

In the backseat, Eugene cursed at the top of his lungs while scrambling into the passenger seat, shouting, "The windshield is shattered, can you even see the road, you motherfucker!"

"I'm fine, kick the glass out!" Gavin snapped back.

"Copy that!"

Eugene let out a roar and slammed his foot into the shattered windshield.

Rat-tat-tat!

Gunfire erupted again. This time, the Tyrannosaurus's right side mirror was blown off, and a new hole appeared in the right side of the windshield.

Eugene flinched at the sound of the bullets, but he didn't stop, kicking at the glass again and again.

While Eugene kicked away at the windshield, Gavin leaned out the window to check the road ahead and glanced at the left side of the path.

They were one hundred and ten meters away from the zombie horde, and because the zombies were running at an angle, they were still about twenty-eight meters from the road.

After confirming the distance, Gavin pursed his lips.

He didn't think the zombies would be a problem for them anymore.

But the real problem was the McLaren five hundred meters away, relentlessly firing at them!

In the passenger seat, Eugene continued to kick the glass while lying back, screaming curses.

"Motherfucker, that son of a bitch wants to trap us and the zombies in the Rich District. Fuck the rich, I really should...!"

"Kill him!"

Gavin cut Eugene off, shouting at him.

Hearing this, Eugene paused his kicking to confirm, "What did you say?"

"I said once we pass the zombie horde, we're going to catch up to him and slaughter him!"

Rat-tat-tat!

As Gavin growled at Eugene, another volley of bullets tore through the air, making both of them tense up.

They got lucky this time; Eugene was lying down while kicking, so the bullets passed right by his legs and slammed into the headrest fifteen centimeters above his head.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!!!"

Eugene's cursing became a continuous stream.

Gavin floored the accelerator, gritting his teeth as he watched the zombie horde running almost parallel to them on the left.

Once he was certain they had overtaken the zombies, he let out a fierce roar.

"Fuck it, I'm accelerating! The only way to force him to keep his hands on the wheel and stop shooting is to make him match my speed!"

"Fuck, you're the boss!"

Eugene nodded while still cursing, then kicked the glass even harder.

Because the windshield had already been shattered and weakened, three more kicks were all it took for Eugene to send the entire frame flying.

The shards of glass flew off to the left, hitting the ground with a bang before being crushed by the RV trailing behind them.

By now, the RV's speed had climbed to one hundred and eighty kilometers per hour, yet five or six zombies still managed to brush against its rear.

Of course, it was only a graze, and the RV safely cleared the horde.

However, once the RV fell behind, it would never catch up to the Tyrannosaurus again.

At this moment, Gavin slammed the accelerator to the floor, and in just two and a half seconds, the Tyrannosaurus surged to two hundred and fifty kilometers per hour.

As the Tyrannosaurus continued to accelerate, the distance between them and the McLaren shrank to about three hundred meters.

Seeing this, the McLaren also began to push past two hundred and thirty kilometers per hour, while Eugene huddled in the passenger seat and pulled out his revolver to fire back.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The gunshots rang out, but they didn't even come close to hitting the McLaren.

Eugene pulled his gun back and cursed, "I should've brought a damn rifle!"

"It's fine, we'll catch him!"

Gavin gripped the steering wheel with his left hand and emptied his Colt Python at the McLaren.

After the magazine ran dry, Gavin tossed the gun to Eugene and pulled a handful of bullets from his pocket, throwing them into his lap.

"Reload!"

As the words left his mouth, Gavin shifted gears and pushed the Tyrannosaurus to its limit of two hundred and ninety kilometers per hour.

The speedometer hesitated for a moment before slowly creeping up kilometer by kilometer, and the gap between them and the McLaren rapidly closed to about two hundred and thirty meters.
