Ten minutes later.
The Frieza Force had assembled. They gathered at the entrance to the spaceship, forming a long line.
"Lord Frieza, the troops are ready. We can depart at any time!" Zarbon bowed.
"Lord Frieza, we just received word from Lord Cooler. He wants you to visit him when you have time," Dodoria reported. "If we stop by Lord Cooler's place on the way, it'll delay us by more than ten days. That means we won't reach Namek for over thirty days."
"Cooler? What does that guy want with me?" Frieza frowned, feeling a little annoyed.
Dodoria shook his head to show that he didn't know.
Frieza thought it over carefully. At first, he hadn't planned to bother with Cooler.
But if he headed straight for Namek, Cooler would definitely notice.
That guy might even go to Namek and try to steal my wish.
I can't beat him right now.
If that happens, my wish for immortality will be ruined.
"Let's go see Cooler first!" Frieza said, his face darkening as he agreed.
"Move out!" Dodoria waved his hand and shouted.
"Yes, sir!"
The assembled soldiers responded in unison.
"Whoosh!"
But just then,
an orange figure flickered into view nearby, right beside Frieza.
"Ah... Frieza! Long time no see." Sun Wukong waved at Frieza and laughed.
Frieza: "????"
Zarbon and Dodoria stared wide-eyed at Sun Wukong, uncertain what to make of his sudden appearance.
Who was this guy?
How had he suddenly appeared here?
Frieza narrowed his eyes slightly. He didn't consider Sun Wukong a threat; his sudden arrival had merely surprised him.
"Who are you?" Frieza asked.
"Ah... You probably don't know me, so I'd better not tell you my name," Sun Wukong replied with a smile.
Frieza: "..."
Frieza didn't feel like talking anymore.
Was I supposed to know you?
What kind of answer was that?
"He's just a guy with a battle power a little over 300." Dodoria quickly read Sun Wukong's battle power from his Scouter, then quietly told Frieza.
"Kill him!" Frieza had already lost patience and ordered one of his men to attack.
I still have to get to Namek and gather the Dragon Balls to make my wish.
This guy's appeared out of nowhere, and he's being completely disrespectful!
Doesn't he know I'm Frieza, the Universe Emperor?
"Yes, sir!" The soldier who received the order was so excited that tears welled in his eyes. His hand trembled around his gun.
If I take out this man named Sun Wukong right in front of Lord Frieza, maybe he'll reward me.
The soldier adjusted his energy gun, aiming it at Sun Wukong.
"Hmph. Your battle power's only a little over 300. Did you come here to get yourself killed?" The soldier sneered as energy flared at the muzzle of his gun.
"Everyone else, move out for Namek!" Frieza said, not giving Sun Wukong a second thought.
He was just a nobody.
Frieza had no idea how the man had appeared, but he'd visited countless planets and knew a thing or two about all kinds of abilities.
To Frieza, perhaps Sun Wukong's sudden appearance was nothing special.
Maybe it was some kind of racial ability!
"Whoosh!"
At Frieza's order, energy flared at the muzzle of the soldier's gun.
The beam shot toward Sun Wukong at tremendous speed.
Sun Wukong didn't even try to dodge. He reached out and grabbed the energy beam in his hand, then kneaded and stretched it like dough, pulling it out until it was incredibly long.
In an instant, the energy had become a long, thin strand that shimmered in the sunlight.
The soldier gaped, his jaw nearly hitting the ground.
The other members of the Frieza Force stared wide-eyed too, unable to believe what they were seeing.
"Here, take it back!" Sun Wukong grinned and tossed the stretched-out beam back at the soldier who had fired it.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
In the blink of an eye, the thin strand wrapped around the soldier again and again, binding him up like a dumpling.
He toppled to the ground, his face filled with terror.
"Oh?" Frieza was a little surprised and turned to look.
The other soldiers glanced at Frieza, waiting for his orders.
This guy's really arrogant!
Should we go teach him a lesson?
"Go ahead," Frieza said, waving his hand at them.
"Raaah!"
Everyone except Zarbon and Dodoria charged toward Sun Wukong.
"Sure, this'll make a good warm-up." Sun Wukong immediately took up a fighting stance and set about punching and kicking the oncoming soldiers.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Sun Wukong kicked them one by one, sending the charging members of Frieza's force flying high into the air.
They tumbled through the sky like dumplings being tossed in boiling water, letting out one scream after another.
Frieza was stunned. His triangular eyes widened in disbelief.
"What's going on?" Zarbon turned to ask Dodoria. "Didn't you say his battle power was only 300?"
"That's strange... It's suddenly jumped to 10,000!" Dodoria pressed the Scouter over his eye again and muttered in confusion.
"There's nothing surprising about that. He's probably from a race that can control its battle power." Frieza smiled, unconcerned.
"Let me handle him!" Dodoria cracked his knuckles and stepped forward.
"Make it quick. We still have to get to Namek," Frieza said with a cold snort.
"Yes, Lord Frieza!" Dodoria hurriedly bowed.
Then Dodoria strode toward Sun Wukong.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
As Dodoria approached Sun Wukong, the soldiers who'd been sent flying came crashing down one after another. They writhed on the ground, groaning in pain.
"You're quite something, kid. Your battle power's reached 10,000!" Dodoria sneered. "Too bad your luck ends here!"
"Who are you?" Sun Wukong had never seen Dodoria before. He scratched his head and asked curiously.
"I'm Dodoria, one of Lord Frieza's most famous warriors!" Dodoria said proudly, pointing his thumb at himself.
"Never heard of you..." Sun Wukong shook his head. The name meant nothing to him.
"Hurry up!" Frieza said with a dark expression, waiting like a hostess for the next guest.
