The Gotham Criminals' Alliance, The Batman Who Laughs (3rd update, seeking collection! Seeking follow-up reading!)
Just as Lynn was preparing to continue his cultivation, a series of hurried footsteps rang out from outside.
Immediately following that, a voice called out.
"What happened?"
Opening the door, Remy first glanced at Lynn, who was sitting on the bed.
After confirming that Lynn was unharmed, he scanned the rest of the room.
Seeing the glass shards embedded in the walls, his pupils contracted almost imperceptibly.
"What did you just do?" Remy asked in astonishment.
Seeing the glass debris on the wall and Remy's reaction, Lynn said indifferently:
"I was just thinking about those damn guys persecuting us, so I got a bit angry and lost control of my strength."
Although Gambit Remy was a mutant like him, Lynn would never tell him that he was cultivating Electric Current Drive.
If people found out that Electric Current Drive could be cultivated to become stronger, there was no telling how crazy those people would become.
"Your strength?"
Remy looked at the glass shards on the wall, then back at the muscular young man sitting on the bed.
A trace of suspicion flashed in his eyes.
How much strength would it take to shatter all that glass and embed it into the wall?
Although he had seen Lynn deflect bullets and kill those gang members earlier, it seemed that the other man's ability was merely having greater strength and higher defense.
Just like Hulk.
How could he manage to shatter the glass window and then embed all the fragments precisely into the wall?
Could it be that Lynn had a second ability?
Gambit Remy remained skeptical.
He nodded and said, "If you're alright, don't forget to join us for dinner later."
After speaking, Remy turned, closed the door, and walked quickly to another room in the abandoned factory.
He picked up the laptop on the table and began to operate it.
For the safety of the mutants, he had installed surveillance cameras in every corner of this abandoned factory.
Soon, the surveillance footage from Lynn's room began to play, starting from the moment he had left.
DC Universe.
Gotham City, ACE Chemicals.
Above the dark clouds, a laughing bat-like pattern was projected onto them.
Rain fell from the thick clouds, pattering against the ground and splashing everywhere.
Since leaving the unknown land, Lynn had been cultivating Electric Current Drive without pause, while also testing powerful finishing moves that combined Lightning Style Ninjutsu with Electric Current Drive.
"Batman has been getting more and more insane lately. It wasn't enough for him to kill Joker; now even Penguin and Riddler have died at his hands."
Nearby, Harley Quinn sat on a railing, swinging her fair, shapely legs while holding a baseball bat.
"That's right. That guy is currently leading the Laughing Legion, searching the entire city for our tracks."
Mr. Freeze, wearing his Mr. Freeze Armor, sat on the other side and replied.
He was checking his Freeze Gun in preparation for a surprise attack by Batman.
His Freeze Gun could fire freezing beams that instantly turned people into blocks of ice, which could then be shattered.
"We have to break out quickly," Lynn said, standing up and looking down at the League of Villains below.
Below were all the criminals of Gotham City.
Two-Face, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Black Mask, and others.
Because Batman had begun a frenzied slaughter of criminals after killing Joker, all the criminals in Gotham had started to unite.
Harley Quinn curled her lip and complained:
"But the old bat's Laughing Legion and Laughing Robin not only have Laughing Batmobiles that are like tanks, but they also have countless pieces of equipment designed to counter us.
Can we really escape?"
Mr. Freeze and the other criminals standing below also chimed in:
"That's Batman we're talking about. Even before he became like this, he was practically omnipotent.
After killing Joker, he became even crazier. Even Superman fell for his traps. Relying only on us, we can't possibly escape."
"Yeah, yeah. With Batman's financial resources, those terrifying gadgets, and his unscrupulous methods, we'll never make it out of Gotham."
"Give up on the idea of escaping, Deathstroke. Blow them up with us; at least that would show some backbone."
"..."
Lynn ignored the criminals' words.
Feeling the 80,000 volts of Electric Current Drive surging within him, his conviction remained firm.
Whether for Gotham or for myself, I must break out.
Gotham City at night had always been chaotic, with criminals running rampant.
But ever since Joker was strangled to death by Batman in Crime Alley, Batman seemed like a different person.
Not only had the Bat-Signal in the sky changed, but Gotham at night was now filled with eerie, cackling laughter.
This laughter echoed like ghosts from the highest points of Gotham, haunting the ears of every citizen.
Countless residents huddled in their homes, shivering as they stared at the pitch-black figures laughing maniacally outside their windows.
In front of those figures were several people bound by ropes, also emitting frantic, crazed laughter.
Inside a room.
A girl opened her eyes and looked out the window. Under the silver flash of lightning, she clearly saw the face of one of the figures.
The person wore a red and green suit, looking somewhat like the Robin from television.
But unlike Robin, the man's eyes were bulging as if he were trying to force them out of their sockets.
His mouth was stretched into a stiff, upward grin, revealing a frantic and bone-chilling smile.
"Ah!" The girl cried out in panic, startled by the sight.
But that very scream seemed to attract the nightmare-like figure in the night.
The frantic laughter began to close in on the room where the girl was hiding.
The girl quickly scrambled into a closet, covering her mouth, not daring to even breathe.
Robin... why had Robin become like this?
Wasn't he a hero of the city?
Why...
Clang.
An unusual sound suddenly echoed in the room.
It sounded like an iron rod striking the window frame.
The girl held her breath, shrinking carefully into the wardrobe.
She didn't even notice that her body was already trembling with fear, making faint, rustling noises.
Slowly, the girl drifted into unconsciousness.
She didn't know how much time had passed, but outside, it was deathly silent.
There wasn't a single strange noise, only the sound of drizzling rain.
"It's okay, you can come out."
A low, raspy man's voice came from outside, jolting the drowsy girl awake.
Could this be Batman's voice?
They said Batman's voice was always low and raspy.
Had Batman come to save her?
Thinking of this, she moved quickly, wanting to go out.
But she suddenly remembered the Robin she had seen earlier.
That pale face and the eerie smile.
If Robin had turned into that, could Batman also...
The girl's urge to rush out suddenly turned cold.
The raspy voice spoke again.
"It's alright, don't worry. I've already captured him; everything outside is safe."
The girl recalled the public's impression of Batman: a superhero who fought crime, the guardian of Gotham City.
A superhero shouldn't turn into something like that, right?
She remembered sitting in her parents' car last month, catching a glimpse of that Dark Knight through the window.
The Dark Knight of Gotham, the superhero who fought crime.
Perhaps that Robin really had been dealt with by him.
Thinking of this, the girl's heart instantly settled.
"I'm coming, I'm coming out."
She responded.
"Batman, I'm here."
She began to move, pushing open the closet door.
She crawled out from the closet and looked up ahead.
She found the man clad in the pitch-black bat suit standing there.
His face was solemn, just as people expected of his stern reputation.
"Batman, are you really..."
The girl hurried to rush forward.
But the next second, her scalp went numb, and her entire body stiffened.
She saw that the man in the dark bat suit's complexion had turned an unnatural pale at some point.
His eyes were bloodshot, both eyeballs bulging wide as if they were about to pop out of their sockets.
The corners of his mouth were stretched into a crazed, chilling, and terrifying grin.
Batman lowered his head to stare at the girl before him.
Gray moonlight shone through the window into a corner of the room, where Robin could be seen crouching in the shadows, his face twisted in a manic laugh.
Whoosh!!
The laughing bat face suddenly lunged closer, looming large!
