If there was anyone best suited to become the Earth God, it was undoubtedly Akrimi.
He was the divine son of the previous Earth God, and also the catalyst for that god's transformation.
Under normal circumstances, Akrimi would naturally have inherited his father's position and become the new Earth God.
But unfortunately, during those final days long ago, Akrimi had also suffered the backlash of the failed salvation.
Akrimi's body had long since been ruined beyond repair. Though his life continued, he was already at a point where even the God of Life would have needed to expend tremendous effort to save him.
