Background / History
Naimus initially operated within the Church of Precepts while pursuing the path of a Paladin. He developed the Oath Keeper and Forgiveness Precepts, using contracts to obtain feedback traits from those bound to him. His early experiments centered on Pur, the Village Guardian, and Lia, whom he used to study faith, pain, abnormal powers, and Whale-ification. 11 16 17 31
After assuming the identity of Nigel, Naimus became the resident Grand Knight of Tail-Wagging Town. He established authority by defeating the Black Viper gang, intensifying patrols, and suppressing local crime. At the same time, he cultivated Church connections by teaching Paladins swordsmanship, discussing spells with priests, and redirecting illicit gains back into Church operations. 79 161
Naimus later manipulated the conflict surrounding the Holy Son. During Isabella's Time Vortex, he shattered his Precepts into feedback power, formed a new contract with Isabella's remnant, escaped the loop, and killed the Holy Son to obtain his Historical Rank. He subsequently discarded Nigel's body and impersonated Holy Son Naim, allowing “Naimus” to remain an external enemy while he infiltrated the Church under a protected identity. 284 287 289
As the Son of God, Naimus investigated the Son of God Project, maneuvered for Guilliman's support, and gained authority within the Church. His appointment as Grand Commander of Azure Sky Whale gave him further access to divine power, Church records, and administrative control. 321 337 391 392
His demonic true body continued developing in the Abyss while his other bodies acted across the Material Plane. After becoming a Demon Lord, he established the Fictional Plains and led the Fictional Protocol, using faith, fortune, swordsmanship, and artificial souls to expand his influence. 398 457 544
In Silver City, Naimus entered event dungeons and rebuilt strength through the card system. He advanced to Silver Breed, recruited Donna, disrupted Molo's favored fate, and prepared to seize the Philosopher's Stone through the unfolding Nether Corpse Incident. 742 758 768
Naimus ultimately ascended to Mythical Breed and became the God of Fiction. His control over change allowed him to challenge the God of Precepts, contend with other gods across possible worlds, and wield a world-transcending change against the Sun God. 822 902 921 971
Appearance
Naimus possesses several bodies and disguises. His natural demon form is a non-corporeal mass of black mist, while his public identities have included Nigel and a body resembling Holy Son Naim. 286 398
- His true form appears as an indistinct humanoid silhouette that cannot be properly understood or perceived when not directly observed. 398
- When condensing a visible body, he has pale, jade-like skin and black robes. 422
- His Holy Son vessel became roughly ninety percent identical to the original Holy Son. 286
- His eyes are described as black and lonely, containing scattered starlight; they remain memorable even when observers quickly lose their impression of his appearance. 702
Personality
Naimus is analytical, patient, and relentlessly growth-oriented. He treats battle, faith, traits, spells, and social relationships as systems to be studied, refined, and exploited. Even setbacks tend to become research opportunities; he studies the failures of Precept fusion, the mechanics of fortune, and the structure of divine power rather than abandoning difficult paths. 20 53 92
He is also manipulative and pragmatic. Naimus coerces others through contracts, deliberately shapes Guilliman's perception of him, and maintains separate identities to redirect suspicion and gain political leverage. 34 287 337
Despite this ruthlessness, Naimus openly teaches those around him. He gives swordsmanship instruction, discusses spellcraft, and offers subordinates direct advice on cultivation. His followers value him because he sets demanding standards but provides practical means to meet them. 161 533
Abilities & Skills
Divinity, Precepts, and Contracts
Naimus's Divinity allows him to establish Precepts, gain feedback from completed contracts, and synthesize compatible feedback into stronger traits.
- Oath Keeper — Forms contracts through the Rope of Oath/Pact Vessel and produces feedback based on the agreement and involved parties. 16 31
- Forgiveness — Grants and manipulates the Essence of Pain; pain manipulation requires a medium, usually an injury inflicted with a weapon. 11
- Feedback Merger — Fused Oath Keeper feedback into Ultimate Control, improving control over the Pact Vessel, and Forgiveness feedback into Essence Fusion, which can strengthen one attribute using others. 53
- Precept destruction — Can shatter Precepts into feedback power, a process he used to interfere with the Time Vortex. 284
- Fabricated Faith — Disguises his self-faith as the faith of the God of Precepts, enabling covert access to the Grid and theft of faith power. 328
Swordsmanship and Swordplay Spellcasting
Naimus's swordsmanship reached its peak early in his development and continued evolving through combat. He uses sword techniques as a casting framework, channeling external power through his blade rather than constructing spells conventionally. 92 258
- Secret Sword: Spinning Flying Swallow — A high-speed counterattack capable of piercing through openings in an opponent's defense. 151 284
- Secret Sword: Bee Sparrow — A guiding, overwhelming technique used to disrupt an enemy's bodily control. 152
- Sword of Fortune — Uses fortune as a medium to connect with breath, elements, causality, and other usable forces. 266
- Elemental swords — Can form agile air swords, durable ice swords, and other sword constructs from surrounding elements. 265 278
- Magpie Tail — A Sword of Fortune technique that follows causal connections to strike directly at a target. 448 546
- Rise with the Wind — A wind-based Sword of Fortune strike that inflicted extensive wounds on the Holy Son. 284
Mental Power and Divine Arts
After changing to mental-power cultivation, Naimus gained greatly improved thought speed, computation, perception, and spellcasting capacity.
- Can directly control his body with his spirit rather than relying on normal neural commands. 327
- Uses psychic power to stabilize physical capabilities despite converted life-aspect stats. 327
- Can access the God of Precepts' Grid with Fabricated Faith and simulate Divine Art signals. 328
- Successfully cast Sacred Fire, though he considered his first version crude. 328
- Uses mental power to control elements and shred enemies such as the Flesh Monster. 333
Fortune, Fate, and Time
Naimus treats fortune as the connection between himself and all usable things. This principle underlies his swordsmanship, casting, prediction, and battlefield control. 266
- Perceives and manipulates small-scale fate through his own rank and fate-related traits. 499
- Developed the Sword of Fortune by using fortune as a vessel for swordsmanship. 265
- Learned temporal applications through Isabella's dragon blood and the Pact Vessel's Knot Records ability. 361 941
- Can connect versions of himself across possible histories and send power through soul-linked connections. 715
- Perfected his own version of the Net-Hunting Heaven and Earth Method within only several cycles of thought. 903
Demon Physiology and Soul Craft
Naimus's Variant Demon body is highly abnormal, existing naturally as black mist and condensing physical forms only when required. 398
- Self-Protocol: Bilateral Protocol — Temporarily merges the 300-level stats and traits of Variant Demon Naimus with the powers of Paladin Nigel's body. 269
- Demon Projection — Creates expendable projections that can be condensed into weapons or reformed after destruction. 457
- Artificial souls — Creates souls for weapons, barriers, and combat constructs. 417 544
- Styx Mark and soul defenses — Protected him after Alaros destroyed his body with a curse. 462
Fiction and Change
As the God of Fiction, Naimus governs changes in power transmission, rules, and battlefield conditions.
- Can alter the rules governing Prayer-Ascendant Angels through his gaze. 822
- Can restrict or sever the transmission of Golden-tier power and heavily constrain Mythical-tier proxy warfare. 885
- Reconstructed battlefield mud into an embryonic world with elements, planar barriers, and life. 553
- Uses the Shepherd and the Law of Causality within his Fictional Space to bind and punish enemies through their prior actions. 654
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Rope of Oath / Pact Vessel — Contract medium, communication link, and later a near-world-level divine artifact empowered by time, change, and constancy. 20 941
- Divine Sword — Contains Divine Script granting sharpness, toughness, Incentive, and Holy Power. 31
- Sword of Fortune — Naimus's principal sword and the vessel for his fortune-based swordsmanship. 265 284
- Holy Nail and Holy Bone — Sacred objects connected to his early Paladin development and Precept-related power. 31 398
- Remnant Scroll — A fragment of a tool that can seize a target's Narrative Heavenly Mandate through transactions and balance points. 969
- Key of Legend, Golden Key, and Abyssal Gaze — Combined to form a fate-simulation space and support Naimus's observation of possible futures. 499
Relationships
- Pur — Early experiment subject, follower, and later Naimus's personal guard. Naimus guided Pur's Essence of Pain and Whale-ification development, then granted him transformation-type power through a grand sacrifice. 17 31 520
- Kru — Twin Demon subordinate and one of Naimus's most loyal allies. Kru supports Naimus's plans, aids his escape preparations, and temporarily relinquishes the Earth Divinity at Naimus's request. 287 885
- Isabella — A crucial figure in Naimus's fate. She came to suspect his true nature, used the Time Vortex against him, and later formed a contract with him through her remnant. 222 284
- Guilliman — Church authority figure who tested Naimus as a potential successor. Naimus deliberately cultivated Guilliman's investment and trust to enter the Church's upper ranks. 337
- Holy Son Naim — Naimus met the original Holy Son after noticing the significance of their opposite names. He later killed the Holy Son, obtained his Historical Rank, and impersonated him as Holy Son Naim. 179 284 289
- God of Precepts / Goddess of Precepts — Divine rival whose faith Naimus stole through Fabricated Faith. Naimus later seized the God of Precepts' Divine Rank and fought the deity across possible worlds. 328 654 902
- Moon God — A strategic partner whose cooperation with Naimus is explicitly based on mutual benefit rather than trust. 702 782
- Dartos — Paladin who recognized Naimus's abnormal advancement potential but regarded him as a dangerous obstacle. 79
Trivia
- Naimus explained that one meaning of his name is “nameless” or “the Nameless One,” while his adopted usage of “Naimus” also signifies “names,” commemorating people and reminding him of an enemy bearing that name. 179 289
- His imposing presence results from the fusion of his Variant Demon true body, past life as a Paladin prodigy, current identity, and accumulated Divinity traits. 54
- Naimus's growth rate itself accelerates through the Marginal Increase Effect; after his True Spirit's release, his demon body's stat growth reached one point every two hours and continued improving. 730
