In Westchester, New York, inside the underground Danger Room of Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, two striking figures constantly crossed paths.
The energy collisions radiating from them filled the entire Danger Room with flashes of electricity and the glow of starlight-like energy.
One of the striking figures had her hair tied up and wore a sleek modern black leather tactical suit that accentuated her slender, graceful figure while making her look sharp, stern, and heroic. She blurred into countless indistinguishable afterimages, wielding two Starlight Energy swords as she charged at the other woman.
The other striking figure showed no fear of the energy swords. Her eyes turned silver-white, and the powerful winds in the Danger Room lifted her entire body into the air. Ignoring her beautiful silver-white hair as it flew wildly in the wind, she raised both hands, where large arcs of electricity appeared. Drawing on the currents generated by the rotating winds around her, she formed them into miniature lightning bolts and fired them at the other woman.
Unexpectedly, after the woman unleashed the lightning, her movements suddenly became like those of a spirit snake. She transformed into winding, twisting afterimages and effortlessly evaded the miniature lightning bolts. Of course, some excess energy from the lightning still shot toward her, but she casually slashed it all apart with her energy swords.
The two were, naturally, Storm Ororo and Starlight Qin Jiayin.
When Ororo saw Qin Jiayin evade her attack in such a manner, she was briefly stunned. Seizing that moment, Qin Jiayin swiftly closed the distance between them.
