Back at the underground base on Isla Sorna, Dilos lowered his gaze to the first page of the documents in his hand. Several large words were printed on it...
"...Captain America..."
Finding Captain America was what Nick Fury had truly wanted Dilos's help with. As for why he had not said so directly?
Recalling the few "little bugs" that had been acting suspiciously during his conversation with Nick Fury, all while his senses remained fully open, Dilos could not help but reveal an amused smile.
S.H.I.E.L.D., of all organizations, could not find Bruce Banner, who had been hiding somewhere out of town?
Dilos did not believe it for a second.
As far as he knew, even if timing had prevented satellites from locking onto the target in time, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s habit of exploiting every opening meant they would immediately narrow down Bruce Banner's possible escape routes, then dispatch large numbers of agents to infiltrate those areas and search for him.
Under such circumstances, Dilos refused to believe S.H.I.E.L.D. had lost track of Bruce Banner. Especially when Bruce Banner, five years ago, had been taken by General Ross for experiments, lost control in an accident, and rampaged all the way to San Francisco, causing massive destruction...
If S.H.I.E.L.D., with all those advantages, still could not find him, then they might as well disband.
As for why Nick Fury had used such a roundabout method to inform Dilos?
Thinking of those "little bugs" monitoring his conversation with Nick Fury, along with the scraps of intelligence he had obtained by invading their minds, Dilos easily deduced the reason.
"Nick Fury hasn't had it easy either. With a bunch of pig-headed superiors like that, he still has to find a way to keep his position from being taken while making sure not to offend me."
