After the two light machine guns ran out of ammo, Dilos didn't hesitate. As he removed their magazines, he unleashed a mental shock against the remaining Compsognathus.
The two hundred Compsognathus charging toward him first fell into a state of mental paralysis. With those two hundred stopping in their tracks, the roughly two hundred behind them slowed as well. Seizing the opportunity, Dilos stamped his foot and shot backward five or six meters.
At the same time, he stuck one machine gun to his back using his electrostatic ability, freeing up a hand to grab a magazine from his tactical vest and load it into the gun in his other hand. Then he did the same with the other empty machine gun. Dilos's hands were much faster than an ordinary person's, and his movements were practiced and nimble. He completed the whole process in just one second.
Once he was ready, Dilos didn't rush to open fire. Instead, he concentrated his vital energy in his mind, temporarily enhancing his mental abilities. Then he unleashed an amplified mental shock against the remaining four hundred or so Compsognathus.
An invisible wave swept over the creatures. Whether or not they had been hit by his earlier mental shock, all of them fell into a state of mental paralysis. Their minds would start working again in a few seconds, but Dilos wasn't about to give them that long.
Taking advantage of the opening, Dilos used his vital energy to heighten his senses without hesitation. He raised both light machine guns and fired at the paralyzed Compsognathus. With the creatures frozen in place, and Dilos deliberately targeting the densest areas, he had a much easier time aiming—and the bullets tore through more of them at once.
The next second, blood and flesh flew everywhere among
