Wu Ming arrives in the Blood-Colored Forest, explains the villagers' worship of a “Blood God,” and identifies the area as the target of a red-level monitoring mission. 49 She joins Qiangu Yunche and Han Ruoruo as they investigate the forest's mutation, competing for its potential rewards while descending into the blood-colored pit and the ruins of the ancient Slaughter City. 50 51

During the expedition, Wu Ming is drawn into the Floating Life Like a Dream illusion alongside Han Ruoruo. Although the illusion is broken, its false memories of a complete life with Qiangu Yunche leave both women emotionally shaken and deepen the complicated feelings Wu Ming already holds toward him. 52 55

Visit to Shrek City
