Arc 16The Painted Boat
Shen Le returned the Buddha relics, survived a mysterious teleportation into the Secret Realm, and came home with new resources and plans for the Artifact Spirits. He began repairing a powerful painted boat, uncovering its eerie contents and enlisting the little ones to help dismantle it.
- Shen Le restored and returned twenty Chinese cultural relics from France, then brought the Buddha Statue and Buddha head home and repaired the statue with the Silk Skirts.
- Shen Le was swept through a Talisman-powered teleportation into the Secret Realm, where Kunpeng asked him to heal animals and sea creatures before he returned with a giant whale and a haul of treasures.
- Shen Le shared the recovered pearls and treasures with the landlady and the Special Affairs Bureau, then asked the Bureau for instruments, articulated dolls, a teacher, body-tempering resources, and research into the Talisman.
- Shen Le discovered that a tiny damaged boat was a powerful vessel originally twenty or thirty meters long, and arranged for a workshop to be built so he could repair it.
- Shen Le chose Lu Zicheng as the Artifact Spirits’ tutor, while the landlady approved a workshop behind Heavenly Fragrance Restaurant and the Bureau paid him compensation for land and returned relics.
- Shen Le expanded the painted boat inside the workshop, examined its damage, and used a specialized scanner to identify it as a 400-liao Fujian warship likely built at Longjiang Shipyard.
- Shen Le entered the ship despite its freezing Yin wind and ghostly shadows, collected its paper effigies and furnishings, and studied plans and a model to learn its structure.
- Shen Le began clearing the ship’s seams with the little ones’ help, but stopped the skirted dresses from pulling a plank with Myriad Strands of Black Hair, then removed its nails and pegs and prepared to lift it.
