Background
Ye Yang is a transmigrator who appeared in Holy Soul Village with no known origins and was taken in by Old Jack. At his martial soul awakening, he possessed neither a martial soul nor soul power—an unprecedented result even among ordinary people. Though initially devastated, he eventually accepted a peaceful life in the village. 1
At age nineteen, Ye Yang awakened the Identity Swap System. The System permits him to exchange identities with a person of roughly his age for ten-day intervals and grants rewards when he significantly influences events while using that identity. 1
His first exchange binds him to Qian Renxue, who is living as Heaven Dou Crown Prince Xue Qinghe. Ye Yang awakens in her body and enters the imperial palace as the Crown Prince, while Qian Renxue is left in his original body in Holy Soul Village. 1 2
Appearance
Ye Yang is described as a young man with a firm, handsome face. Prior to the identity exchange, he wears simple, shabby village clothing. 13 14
- Originally lives as an impoverished orphan in Holy Soul Village. 1
- Uses Qian Renxue's disguised Crown Prince appearance while in the imperial palace. 2
- As the Emperor Hero, he wears the golden Emperor of Light Armor. 24
Personality
Ye Yang adapts quickly to sudden changes in circumstance. After awakening without a martial soul or soul power, he chooses to enjoy his second life rather than dwell on resentment; when the System arrives, he immediately assesses its risks and advantages. 1
As Crown Prince, he is calculating, theatrical, and highly conscious of appearances. He manipulates Xue Beng into exposing weaknesses, frames his punishment as righteous discipline before the imperial court, and uses a benevolent façade to intimidate political opponents. 4 7 12 17
He can show concern for commoners, such as assisting an old farmer threatened by Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect disciples, but he is also ruthless when confronting those he considers enemies or tools. 18 25

- Its 100,000-year skill Purifying Gaze is powerful enough to attract the attention of an ancient presence in the Star Dou Forest. 28
Emperor of Light Armor
The Emperor of Light Armor is soul-bound to Ye Yang. It is associated with the Five Elements and Light, and its form incorporates tiger shoulders, a mastiff back, rhinoceros legs, eagle hands, and a dragon head. 1

Political Manipulation
Ye Yang uses his temporary station as Crown Prince to control narratives, intimidate rivals, and exploit conflicts within the imperial family.
- Publicly recast his whipping of Xue Beng as necessary discipline, winning Emperor Xue Ye's approval and turning the court against Xue Beng. 12
- Convinced Serpent Spear and Pufferfish Douluo that Xue Beng's wastrel persona conceals a threat, securing their confidence in his strategy. 7 8
- Allows Prince Xue Xing's desperate schemes to progress in expectation that they will expose further weaknesses. 34

- He initially treats the luxuries and authority of the Crown Prince position as an opportunity to enjoy himself. 7 8
