"Are you really not going to reconsider, sir?" Guang Biao said through gritted teeth.
A pale, bone-white flame appeared in Tang Wulin's hand. Yao Lao's voice came from his mouth. "Heh! Where's that swagger you had when you were bullying those three kids earlier? I bet you'll be on your knees begging me to spare you next. Of course, if you do that, I might consider letting you go!"
"Sir, don't get too arrogant. You're only possessing him, not acting in your true form. You should know better than anyone how much of your power you can actually use."
Guang Biao was, after all, the captain of East Sea City's Mecha Brigade, and one of the city's high-level combatants. Even the mayor treated him with respect. When had he ever suffered such humiliation?
"So what if I'm arrogant? You'd better bring out that Black-Grade Mecha of yours, along with all your underlings. Come at me all at once. Don't waste my time."
For some reason, hearing those words come out of Tang Wulin's mouth sounded a little strange.
"Get them all!" Guang Biao shouted, his face darkening.
"Yes, sir!"
At once, the mecha troops surrounding the Snack Street began to stir.
Yao Lao thought for a moment, then flew outside the Snack Street first. He had no intention of fighting inside. This street was innocent, and it was the livelihood of countless families.
Yao Lao was incredibly fast. The Soul Masters piloting the White-Grade and Yellow-Grade Mechas didn't even have time to get inside them.
"Very well. This is my first time fighting Soul Masters from your plane. Let's see how strong you are!"
Yao Lao instantly appeared in front of a Purple-Grade Mecha. The Bone Spirit Cold Flame in his hand drifted lightly onto its surface.
The pilot of the Purple-Grade Mecha was a Soul Ancestor. Faced with Yao Lao's sudden attack, he had no time to react. But when he saw Yao Lao had merely tossed a wisp of flame onto his mecha, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
His mecha was a Purple-Grade, after all. As long as he wasn't facing an attack from Ultimate Fire, how could an ordinary flame possibly damage it?
Thinking this, the Soul Ancestor immediately began charging his Soul Guidance Laser Cannon, aiming to shoot Yao Lao down.
But he clearly had no idea Heavenly Flames existed, much less how terrifying their power was.
Just as the Soul Guidance Laser Cannon was nearly charged, the wisp of Bone Spirit Cold Flame that had landed on the mecha began to unleash its power.
In almost an instant, the entire mecha was encased in a layer of ice, all its movements brought to an abrupt halt.
At the same time, the mecha began to melt inside the ice, starting with its cockpit. In moments, the imposing Purple-Grade Mecha had turned into a puddle of molten metal.
As for the Soul Ancestor inside, he had melted into that puddle as well.
"What?! The captain's mecha melted!"
"How is that possible? That's a Purple-Grade Mecha! Some of its components are even Spirit-Forged!"
The mechas that had gathered around stared at the puddle of molten metal on the ground, too afraid to approach.
"Looks like these so-called Purple-Grade Mechas aren't all that sturdy!"
Yao Lao smiled and rapidly fanned one hand through the air. The Bone Spirit Cold Flame landed with pinpoint accuracy on every mecha. None could evade it.
This was one of the Dou Techniques Yao Lao had mastered: Flame Blowing Palm. Its grade wasn't high, but it was just right for a situation like this.
"Ah... Ah!"
A chorus of screams rang out. Every mecha was first frozen solid, then melted into molten metal beneath the Bone Spirit Cold Flame.
This time, however, Yao Lao controlled the Bone Spirit Cold Flame so it wouldn't reach the Soul Masters inside. He merely froze them into blocks of ice, leaving them unable to move for some time.
Though killing them would have been as easy as turning over his hand, Yao Lao had to consider what would happen afterward. After living here for several months, he had learned that the Federation of this plane had a well-developed legal system, unlike Dou Qi Continent, where the strong had nothing to fear.
If he killed all these people, the Federation would surely make Tang Wulin bear the consequences.
So, if he could avoid killing them, he should. As for Guang Biao, Yao Lao had no intention of letting him go. He understood the principle of capturing the ringleader first. Once Guang Biao was dead, these lackeys would be like grass bending whichever way the wind blew—not a threat at all.
At the thought of Guang Biao, Yao Lao suddenly looked up. The Black-Grade Mecha that had been hovering in the air, along with Guang Biao, had disappeared. He had actually abandoned everyone and run!
"Hmph! Think you can get away?"
Yao Lao blurred and vanished from the spot.
"Damn it! Who is that old bastard? He hasn't used a trace of Soul Power, yet he's still that powerful. And that strange flame—it can even melt Spirit-Forged Metal! I've taken a huge loss this time."
High in the air, Guang Biao piloted his Black-Grade Mecha at top speed. That night, he had happened to be nearby conducting drills with nearly half the Mecha Brigade. He never expected them all to be wiped out in the blink of an eye.
He no longer dared face Yao Lao. If even a Purple-Grade Mecha could melt, what chance did his Black-Grade Mecha have?
"Talking about people behind their backs isn't very nice!"
Yao Lao's voice suddenly sounded beside Guang Biao. He turned his head slightly and saw Tang Wulin's youthful face at his right side, wearing a smile far too worldly for his age.
"How is this possible?!" Guang Biao hadn't expected Yao Lao to catch up so quickly. Even ordinary Titled Douluos couldn't match the speed of a Black-Grade Mecha going all out.
"Get down here!"
Yao Lao raised his fist and slammed it into the mecha's head. Eight waves of destructive force instantly surged through its entire frame.
Eight-Level Collapse was a Dou Technique with tremendous destructive power. A single punch unleashed eight surges of force throughout the opponent's body. The slightest misstep could leave one's meridians shattered and bones broken, ending in death.
A flood of malfunction alerts appeared before Guang Biao's eyes. Yao Lao's punch had nearly destroyed half the Black-Grade Mecha.
Bang!
The Black-Grade Mecha crashed in a suburban area, with no ordinary people nearby. It was the perfect place for Yao Lao to cut loose.
Crack, crack, crack!
Without a second thought, Yao Lao tried to wrench the mecha apart with his bare hands. But Spirit-Forged Metal had the ability to constantly repair its own damage.
Yao Lao furrowed his brow slightly. The Bone Spirit Cold Flame appeared in his hand, and he prepared to melt the mecha outright.
"Senior, please spare me! Wait, I'm coming out right now! Right now!" Guang Biao's panicked voice came from inside the mecha. He simply couldn't bear to lose his Black-Grade Mecha.
The next moment, Guang Biao opened the mecha himself and scrambled out.
He fell to his knees before Yao Lao and kowtowed repeatedly. His voice quavered with a hint of tears. "Senior, please spare me! I swear I'll never bother those three again. I can compensate them, too—money, cultivation resources, anything you ask for. I'll give them whatever you want."
"Tsk!" Yao Lao fixed him with a cold stare and said impatiently, "The people I hate most are those who break their word. Bullying the weak is bad enough, but you promised to spare them if they lasted five minutes against you. Then you still tried to wipe them out. Did you ever think this might be what you'd end up facing?"
"I deserve to die! I'm a bastard! I'm a scoundrel! I can give them plenty of compensation. I can even kill my younger brother and apologize to them. But killing me won't do you any good, Senior! It'll only bring the Federation down on you."
"Are you threatening me?" Yao Lao said in a low voice.
