This was Tang Wulin's first time traveling far from home to a big city, and he was all alone—well, if you really had to count, you could say there were three of them.
Tang Wulin wasn't distracted by the strange and curious sights around him; he walked straight toward his destination: the freshman reception area of the East Sea Academy.
The person in charge of reception was a teenage girl. Tang Wulin handed her the letter of introduction he was holding.
As the girl took the letter, she said, "Hello there, little brother! My name is Liu Yuxin, and I'm your senior!"
"Hello, Senior Sister. My name is Tang Wulin, and I'm from Aolai City," Tang Wulin greeted her politely.
"Tang Wulin, nine years old, Blue Silver Grass martial soul, spirit power level eleven." Liu Yuxin looked at the contents of the letter and couldn't help but feel surprised. "You're really impressive. To have cultivated Blue Silver Grass to level eleven at nine years old."
Tang Wulin scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. It was rare for people to praise him like that; most people usually just called his Blue Silver Grass a trash martial soul.
"Alright, Little Wulin, go over to that bus. We'll head to the academy together later," Liu Yuxin said, pointing to a bus not far away.
"Okay!" Tang Wulin nodded vigorously.
The bus was already filled with many people, most of whom were accompanied by their parents, which made Tang Wulin feel a sudden pang of loneliness.
At that moment, Yao Lao flew out from the storage ring and sat down beside Tang Wulin; he seemed to enjoy riding in vehicles quite a bit.
The bus started moving before long. Yao Lao seemed even more curious about the city's scenery than Tang Wulin, even making Tang Wulin give up his window seat so he could watch the view outside.
It was fortunate that the bus wasn't completely full, or Tang Wulin wouldn't have known how to explain why he was occupying two seats.
After about an hour, the bus stopped in front of a large gate. Through the window, Tang Wulin saw seven large characters inscribed on it.
"East Sea Spirit Master Academy."
If nothing went wrong, Tang Wulin would be spending the next few years here.
Less than a minute later, the academy gates slowly opened, and the bus officially drove inside.
"Attention, junior students. Once the bus reaches the parking lot, please head to the intermediate academy's administrative office on your own to register."
A familiar voice came from the front of the bus. Tang Wulin poked his head out to take a look; it was Liu Yuxin.
Liu Yuxin noticed Tang Wulin's gaze and walked over, crouching down in front of him. "Little Wulin, since you're here to register by yourself, would you like me to go with you?"
Tang Wulin quickly waved his hands. "Thank you for the offer, Senior Sister, but I can go by myself."
Liu Yuxin smiled and didn't insist. "Then be careful! If you need anything, you can come find me at the advanced academy; I'm in Grade One, Class One."
Tang Wulin nodded.
Liu Yuxin patted Tang Wulin on the head before returning to the front of the bus.
A few minutes later, the bus pulled into an underground parking lot. After saying a final goodbye to Liu Yuxin, Tang Wulin headed to the administrative office to register on his own.
With the letter of introduction from Hongshan Academy, Tang Wulin successfully completed his enrollment, receiving two sets of school uniforms and a dormitory key.
From this moment on, Tang Wulin was a freshman in Class Five, Grade One of the East Sea Spirit Master Academy's middle school division.
Tang Wulin walked toward the dormitory with a beaming smile. Yao Lao hadn't returned to the storage ring yet and was still following by his side.
"I have to say, the academies in your Douluo Continent are built quite well, and there are so many of them," Yao Lao remarked, looking at the surrounding environment.
"Yao Lao, didn't your hometown have academies?"
Yao Lao sighed softly, as if remembering something. "Of course there were academies in the Dou Qi Continent, but they weren't places ordinary people could enter. Back there, everything was taught within individual clans, which meant many commoners never had a chance to rise up. If the Dou Qi Continent had academies as widespread as yours, I think it would surely be a different kind of golden age."
"Were you a very powerful person trained by a clan back then?" Tang Wulin asked.
Yao Lao gave Tang Wulin's head a firm smack. "You brat, how many times do I have to tell you? I am the greatest alchemist."
Tang Wulin rubbed his head, still confused. "But isn't an alchemist just someone who refines medicine? You shouldn't be very good at fighting, right?"
"Forget it, I won't argue with a little guy like you. I've been out for too long today; I need to go back and rest." With that, Yao Lao transformed into a wisp of white light and dove back into the storage ring.
Tang Wulin was left feeling baffled. Are alchemists really that impressive?
While lost in thought, Tang Wulin realized he had already arrived at the student dormitory building.
"Second floor, 205."
Tang Wulin glanced at the number on the key in his hand and walked quickly toward his room.
Pushing open the dormitory door, Tang Wulin found two people already sitting inside.
One looked quite sturdy, while the other was thinner and wore a pair of glasses.
"Hello! My name is Tang Wulin," Tang Wulin greeted them politely.
"Hello, my name is Yun Xiao," the thinner roommate replied politely.
However, the other roommate walked up to Tang Wulin with an aggressive air and pointed at the cleaning supplies in the corner. "Tang Wulin, right? You clean the dorm."
Tang Wulin was taken aback, but he didn't get angry; the room was indeed a bit dirty.
Tang Wulin nodded, placed his luggage on an upper bunk, and turned to grab a bucket before heading back out.
"Zhou Changxi, there's no need to bully him like that!" Yun Xiao said indignantly as he watched Tang Wulin leave.
"Then why don't you clean it?"
Zhou Changxi didn't hold back; he even reached out and grabbed the bag Tang Wulin had left on the bed, starting to rummage through it.
But just then, Tang Wulin returned.
He saw Zhou Changxi rummaging through his belongings incessantly, with many items already scattered on the floor.
"What are you doing!" Tang Wulin dropped his water bucket and roared at Zhou Changxi.
"Little bumpkin, why so worked up over me touching your things?" Zhou Changxi showed no sign of stopping, continuing to rummage through them.
But just then, Tang Wulin saw Zhou Changxi step on his quilt, right where Na'er had embroidered a small flower.
Na'er hadn't left much behind, and this little flower was one of those things; Tang Wulin would absolutely not allow anyone to defile her belongings like this.
Sitting to the side, Yun Xiao watched the two of them at daggers drawn and couldn't help but take two steps back. Furthermore, whether it was an illusion or not, he felt the surrounding temperature rise slightly.
At this moment, Tang Wulin's eyes had turned golden-red, and a surge of fury churned endlessly within his chest.
"Bang!"
In an instant, Tang Wulin clenched his fist and charged at Zhou Changxi like a soul-guided cannonball.
