The night is as dark as ink and the stars are dim.
Shrek City On the street on the west side, a figure wearing a black cloak walked silently.
The hood of the cloak was pulled down very low, covering most of his face, leaving only his chin and pursed lips exposed. The night breeze was very light, but not a breath of breath leaked out from around him, as if his whole body had melted into the darkness.
Occasionally, passers-by glanced at him and felt that this man had a coldness about him that would keep strangers away from him, so they hurriedly looked away and walked away quickly.
Chen Xinjie It's been a long time since I visited Shrek City.
The last time I came here was a regular meeting at Federal Military a few years ago. Due to certain political considerations, I chose Shrek City.
That time he glanced at Golden Ancient Tree from a distance without even stepping into the academy. Over the years, he has deliberately kept a distance, watching from a distance and never disturbing her.
He has his way, and she has hers.
But now--he couldn't sit still anymore.
After crossing two streets, the gate of the Shrek Academy appeared in sight. The tall courtyard wall acted like a barrier in the night, dividing the world inside and outside.
The soul guide street lamp at the door emits soft white light, illuminating the area in front of the door. Two students in school uniforms stood upright at the door, looking at the passers-by with casual eyes.
It's not surprising that they are like this. After all, Shrek Academy's reputation is well known to everyone. How could Xiaoxiao dare to come here and act wild?
What's more, even if we get past them, there are still several teachers in the academy behind, especially the powerful Pavilion Elder, and the number one person in the world, Sky-Supporting Douluo. How can those people be dealt with by some little thieves?
Chen Xinjie stopped, stood in the shadows, and was silent for a moment.
He lowered his head and looked at his attire - a black cloak with a low hood and his whole body wrapped tightly.
With this look, no one would let him go easily, let alone Shrek's students. But he didn't want to reveal his identity.
War God Temple Palace Master visited Shrek Academy late at night. I don't know how much speculation it will cause if word spreads.
He took a deep breath, stepped out of the shadows, and walked towards the door.
"Stop!"
As soon as he reached the door, one of the students reached out to stop him and glanced at Chen Xinjie warily.
Although he was just here to earn credits, he was not mentally retarded. How could he let others wander around under his nose?
"Who is he? What is his sneaky intention in the middle of the night?"
Chen Xinjie did not answer, nor did he stop.
The student's face darkened, and he took a step forward and stood in front of him. "I'm asking you a question! This is Shrek Academy. No one is allowed to enter."
Chen Xinjie finally stopped. The eyes under the hood looked at the young man in front of him calmly, without speaking or releasing any breath.
But the student felt an inexplicable chill on his back, and subconsciously took half a step back, but quickly straightened his back and held on without letting go.
"W-who are you?"
Another student also came over, and the two stood side by side at the door, as if not letting anyone in.
Chen Xinjie was silent for a moment, then closed his eyes.
A ray of spiritual power was like a silent ripple, protruding from between his brows, passing through the gate, through the tree-lined paths, through the layers of buildings, and straight into the depths of Golden Ancient Tree.
In the Sea God Pavilion, Yun Ming was sitting at the table, flipping through a file. Ya Li was sitting next to him, holding a cup of hot tea in his hand, quietly looking at the night outside the window.
Yun Ming suddenly raised his head and looked out the window sharply.
Ya Li was slightly startled. "What's wrong?"
Yun Ming did not answer, but frowned slightly. He recognized that ray of spiritual power - Vast Sea Douluo Chen Xinjie.
"A guest is here." Yun Ming stood up, "I'll pick him up."
Ya Li looked at his expression and nodded thoughtfully.
Yun Ming walked out of the Sea God Pavilion, and disappeared into the night in a flash.
At the door of the Shrek Academy, two students were still confronting Chen Xinjie. They had pressed the alarm on their waists, but no one came. Just when they were hesitating whether to take action, a voice came from behind.
"Let him in."
The two of them turned around and saw Yun Ming walking out of the academy, with a calm expression but a somewhat complicated look in his eyes.
"Pavilion Master!" The two students saluted quickly.
Yun Ming waved his hand to signal them to move away, and then walked up to Chen Xinjie.
"The master of the palace came to visit late at night, and I don't know why?"
Chen Xinjie raised his head, his face under the hood looming under the streetlight. He was silent for a moment before speaking, his voice low and hoarse. "Let me see her."
Yun Ming didn't ask who "she" was. They all knew it.
After a few seconds of silence, Yun Ming turned sideways and gave way to the passage.
"Follow me."
Chen Xinjie nodded and followed Yun Ming into the door.
The two students looked at each other, not daring to ask anything, and returned to their posts obediently.
Walking through the tree-lined path and passing through several teaching buildings, Yun Ming took Chen Xinjie to an independent small courtyard under Golden Ancient Tree. The courtyard was not big, but it was quiet and elegant. There were several green bamboos planted in the courtyard, and the night wind blew and rustled.
Yun Ming stopped and looked back at Chen Xinjie.
"She's in there."
Chen Xinjie nodded and walked inside.
Yun Ming looked at his back and hesitated to speak. In the end, he turned around and left without saying anything.
Chen Xinjie Pushed open the courtyard door, crossed the path, and walked to the house door.
The door was not closed, and soft light came from inside. He stood at the door, looking at the pale figure lying on the bed, Jiujiu did not move.
Ya Li was sitting by the bed. He was slightly startled when he saw the figure at the door. Then he stood up, nodded to Chen Xinjie, and then walked out of the room gently.
Chen Xinjie finally walked into the room.
Long Yeyue closed her eyes and frowned slightly. Even in a coma, there was a look of pain on her face. Her face was frighteningly white, her lips had no trace of blood, and she looked as if she was more than ten years older.
Chen Xinjie stood beside the bed, looking at her, his eyes slightly red.
He reached out and wanted to touch her face, but stopped in mid-air.
The hand hung above her cheek and never came down.
Finally, he took back his hand, sat down beside her bed, and looked at her quietly.
The moonlight outside the window spilled in through the gauze curtains and fell on the two of them.
Chen Xinjie didn't say a word, just kept looking at her.
He knew she couldn't hear, but he still wanted to see her.
Over the years, he had watched her from afar, never getting close. He thought this would be good. But now, as she lay there, he realized that those so-called "thoughts" were just self-deception.
I don't know how much time passed, but the sound of gentle footsteps came from outside.
Chen Xinjie stood up, gave Long Yeyue one last look, turned and walked out of the room.
Yun Ming stood in the courtyard, with the moonlight behind him, and his expression could not be seen clearly.
"When will she wake up?"
Yun Ming was silent for a moment. "Ya Li said that her body needs time to recover. Her life was saved, but her cultivation..."
Chen Xinjie nodded and did not ask any further questions.
He looked up at Golden Ancient Tree. The tree was glowing faintly in the night, soft and warm.
"Can that tree save her?"
Yun Ming is silent.
Chen Xinjie didn't ask any more questions, turned around and walked out of the hospital.
Yun Ming looked at his back and suddenly said, "Palace Master, about that person..."
Chen Xinjie stopped and did not look back.
"It goes without saying."
His voice was calm, but beneath the calm was a deeper undercurrent.
"I know what to do. When she wakes up, I will come back to see her."
After saying that, he strode away and disappeared into the night.
Yun Ming stood in the courtyard, looking at his back, Jiujiu said nothing.
Ya Li walked out of the room, stood beside him, and asked softly, "He left?"
Yun Ming nodded.
Ya Li sighed, "His condition doesn't look good."
Yun Ming was silent for a moment and said calmly, "No one else would be fine."
"But forget it, there is no need for us to get involved in the emotional entanglements of the older generation."
Ya Li held his hand and said no more.
The moonlight shone in the courtyard, making the shadows of the two people very long.
Golden Ancient Tree in the distance glows softly in the night.
