Tang San studied at Notting Academy under Yu Xiaogang, whom he accepted as his teacher with deep respect. His cultivation of the Mysterious Heaven Skill left Yu Xiaogang unable to move him when Tang San knelt before him. 11

After returning from the Soul Hunting Forest, Tang San acquired a four-hundred-year spirit ring. He and Yu Xiaogang each attempted to credit the other for the soul beast’s death, reflecting their mutual respect. 16

His rivalry with Jiang Naruto began at Notting Academy.
