"No, why haven't they called us yet?"
The Shrek Six-Member Group had been waiting for a long time outside a famous local seafood restaurant, but their number still hadn't been called.
"Waiter, what's going on? It's still not our turn." Yu Chen couldn't help but pull over a passing waiter to ask.
The waiter wiped the sweat from his forehead and said hurriedly, "You guys should go eat somewhere else; our shop is out of stock."
"What do you mean?"
"You told us to wait just a moment ago, saying it would be our turn soon. Now you're telling us you're out of stock? Are you playing us for fools?"
Surrounded by the group, the waiter turned pale with anxiety. "I'm really not playing with you. We did have stock earlier, but just while you were waiting, one table of guests ate every single piece of seafood in the shop! Everything! They even finished the backup supply from the cold storage!"
"One table of guests? Ate it all? Do you take us for three-year-olds?" Yu Chen sneered and pushed open the restaurant door to walk inside. "I want to see who could possibly eat a seafood restaurant out of stock."
The rest of the Shrek Six-Member Group followed him in.
At a window seat in the main hall, three people were sitting. To be precise, two were sitting, and one was eating. It was a girl with silver hair and silver eyes, looking about ten years old, with a single strand of hair—an ahoge—sticking up high on her forehead.
On the table in front of her was a suffocating mountain of food: crab shells stacked into a tower, scallop shells built into a wall, lobster claws piled at the corner of the table, and oyster shells arranged in three separate layers on plates. The empty shells alone occupied the entire table.
The waiter was frantically clearing plates nearby, but his speed couldn't keep up with her pace of consumption.
At that moment, she was grabbing a king crab leg larger than her own face in one hand, while holding a dripping garlic oyster in the other, her cheeks puffed out like a silver hamster hoarding a mouthful of nuts.
The sneer on Yu Chen's face froze, and even Xu Lizhi, who was famous for his appetite, had his mouth hanging open in shock.
How can there be a glutton in this world who can out-eat me?
While they were stunned, Na'er polished off two more oysters and a crab leg. She tossed the empty shells into a nearby plate, licked the garlic sauce off her lips with lingering desire, and looked up, her silver eyes sparkling as she gazed at the black-haired boy sitting across from her.
"Shen Nanxun, is there any more?"
Shen Nanxun didn't answer; instead, he looked at the 'mountain' and muttered, "One plate, two plates..."
"What plates?"
The Ahoge King didn't seem to realize the gravity of the situation yet.
"Whoever eats the most pays the bill. You definitely can't afford this much." Shen Nanxun teased with a smile. "So you'll just have to stay here and wash dishes."
"No way!"
"But Gu Yue ate quite a bit too!"
Why?
Gu Yue looked up at her, only to see that the girl had only a handful of shells in front of her, which looked like child's play compared to Na'er's 'mountain'.
Shen Nanxun helplessly ruffled her silver hair. "I can't believe you'd even say that."
"I'll handle it." Gu Yue didn't say much more; she stood up, took a gold card from her soul storage ring, and paid the bill cleanly.
Shen Nanxun glanced at her. Gu Yue didn't look back; she put a peeled shrimp into her mouth and chewed slowly, her cheeks bulging slightly, looking somewhat similar to how Na'er looked when eating rabbit heads.
Na'er leaned into Shen Nanxun's ear and lowered her voice. "Did the sun rise in the west? She's actually treating us to a seafood feast today?"
Gu Yue glanced at her, her eyes filled with smugness and disdain.
Foolish Na'er. A qualified mate should be generous and decisive. How could she compete for the bloodline just by knowing how to eat?
When the time came, she would be the first to taste the bloodline!
Tianhai Hotel.
That night, Shen Nanxun was already sitting on his bed meditating. As soon as Gu Yue stepped out of the room, she was pinned against the wall by the silver-haired, silver-eyed girl.
Na'er was no longer the naive girl who only knew how to eat. She blocked Gu Yue against the corridor wall, one hand braced beside her ear, her silver eyes glowing strikingly in the dim hallway light, with undisguised vigilance in their depths.
"Gu Yue, Shen Nanxun is mine. Don't have any ulterior motives. Especially your subordinates—keep them in check!"
She could sense Shen Nanxun's bloodline aura, so naturally, Gu Yue could too. From this unusual behavior, she could tell what was happening, and she was worried that Gu Yue might suddenly make a move on Shen Nanxun.
Pinned against the wall, Gu Yue felt the cold wallpaper against her back. Her dark, deep eyes calmly watched the face before her—a face that, like her own, was a half-body of the Silver Dragon King, yet one that had been ruffled far more times than she could count.
After a long silence, she spoke, her voice as indifferent as ever. "Are you done?"
"Not yet!" Na'er's ahoge nearly poked Gu Yue's nose. "Don't think I don't know why you treated us today! You just wanted to show off in front of him, to make him think you're more generous and virtuous than me. 'Virtuous' is a word I learned from scrolling through Douhun yesterday! Then you'll bite his neck when he's not looking! I saw it! On the train, you snuck close to him, your mouth was practically pressed against him!"
"I thought you were asleep." Gu Yue's eyelashes trembled ever so slightly.
"Of course I was faking it! I knew you'd pull something while Na'er was asleep! Stinky Gu Yue, I'm warning you, Shen Nanxun was bitten by Na'er first, four years ago! First come, first served!"
"Is he a spicy rabbit head? 'First come, first served' indeed." Gu Yue gently brushed aside the ahoge poking at her nose.
"Exactly!" Na'er indignantly snatched her ahoge back from her hand and leaned in closer. "Anyway, you can't touch him."
In the eyes of the Ahoge King, Shen Nanxun was no different from a delicious spicy rabbit head.
"When did you start having human emotions?" Gu Yue turned her head away, her voice cold. "This will only destroy you."
"I have always been human."
Na'er emphasized this with an equally cold tone.
"Rest assured, I will honor our agreement." Gu Yue's dark eyes were full of arrogance. "But you should think carefully about whether you can beat me. If he falls into our hands, then you must accept your loss."
"Not a chance." Na'er said earnestly. "Shen Nanxun will only let me bite him voluntarily, so don't even think about it, unless..."
"Unless what?"
"Unless you act like a puppy. He only lets me bite him when I'm a puppy."
In reality, every time she bit him, Shen Nanxun would call her a puppy.
A flash of shame and indignation appeared in Gu Yue's eyes, and she snapped, "I would rather die!"
As the dignified Silver Dragon King, how could she ever stoop to acting like a dog just to get a bite? This was an insult, a naked insult.
She had her bottom line!
"Hmph!" Na'er tilted her head, acting haughty. "I knew you couldn't swallow your pride. Anyway, you'll never get to bite him."
She said it on purpose, just to make Gu Yue retreat in the face of difficulty.
Watching Na'er look so triumphant, like a victorious general returning to her room, complex emotions surged in Gu Yue's eyes.
She was the proud Silver Dragon King, the Master of Soul Beasts! How could she ever submit to another!
