Before that, everything was far from over.
But I'm still pretty curious... Ritsuka muttered inwardly, staring intently at the slender figure in the distance and Tiamat, who was occasionally saying something to Lan Ze.
What exactly was their relationship?
The girl's heart filled with curiosity.
Uruk, King's Hall.
After temporarily sealing Gorgon away, Lan Ze and the others returned to the King's Hall. Gilgamesh sat upon his throne, looking down at everyone below.
"You have all worked hard. The trouble has been temporarily resolved, so go relax tonight if you wish. Next, I shall discuss the Magic Array with Merlin. Within three days at the latest, we will sever the connection between 'Mother' and Gorgon."
The Chaldea group all breathed sighs of relief, and the Heroic Spirits around them gradually relaxed their tense bodies as well.
Over the past half month, they had barely had time to rest each day in order to defend Uruk's final line of defense.
Fortunately, none of their efforts had been in vain.
Ritsuka had successively persuaded Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent God, and the tsundere goddess Ishtar. Together with Ereshkigal, who had unconditionally taken Uruk's side because of Lan Ze, the League of the Three Goddesses had instantly fallen apart.
No matter how powerful Gorgon was, she was ultimately isolated and without support. The demonic beasts she had sent out were also being held back by the Heroic Spirits summoned by Gilgamesh.
Most importantly... the pressure brought by the final boss had also vanished because of Lan Ze.
The original Tiamat had been like a Sword of Damocles hanging over everyone's heads. Even if they defeated Gorgon, Tiamat would still be waiting behind her... it had been an utterly despairing prospect.
But now, that pressure had disappeared.
As long as they hurried to prepare for severing the connection between the two goddesses over the next few days, the crisis of this Singularity would naturally be resolved.
It could be said that much of this was thanks to Lan Ze... a boy who had appeared from who knew where.
Thinking this, Gilgamesh's gaze fell upon Lan Ze. The arrogance in his eyes had softened somewhat as he said, "Lan Ze, you have been rushing about all day, and your mana is nearly exhausted. Rest in this Divine Tower tonight. There are rooms in the back for you and Mother."
"This... wouldn't that be inappropriate?" Lan Ze tried to decline tactfully.
Replenishing mana in a place as sacred as the Divine Tower felt a little too... exciting.
Gilgamesh clearly had no idea what Lan Ze was thinking. He shook his head and laughed heartily. "Say no more. Once I have decided something, I will not go back on it."
As he spoke, he looked at Merlin nearby. "Merlin, remain in the hall. I still have matters to discuss with you."
"...Yes," Merlin answered helplessly.
Seeing the relieved expressions on everyone else's faces, his eyes filled with envy and jealousy. He had been run ragged lately. He wanted to get off work too... but apparently, that was not allowed.
Seeing Gilgamesh and Merlin seemingly discussing something before the throne, the others quietly left the hall.
They had already become accustomed to Gilgamesh's style. If they had something to say, they could simply tell him directly without worrying that interrupting his conversation would anger him.
And if they had nothing to say, they could just leave.
After everyone left the King's Hall, Lan Ze took Tiamat's hand and walked out of the Divine Tower with her.
It was already late at night, yet Uruk was exceptionally lively tonight.
Inside a small house, Heroic Spirits held wine cups in their hands, draped arms over one another's shoulders, and drank until they were thoroughly drunk. The room brimmed with cheer.
Merlin hurried over after finishing his discussion with Gilgamesh. He joined the drinking party and got tipsy after only a little alcohol. He tried to put an arm around Anna, the big little girl standing in the corner, only to be kicked out by her. He lay on the floor snoring, without the slightest dignity of the Magus of Flowers.
Lan Ze sat on the rooftop, gazing at the stars in the sky. He took a deep breath of the slightly chilly air, then slowly let it out.
He felt wonderful, and his entire body was exceptionally relaxed.
It was a bit like an author who had finished their manuscript and even exceeded their target. Once they had chapters in reserve, they would feel especially relaxed and no longer have to worry about readers demanding updates.
"What is it?" Tiamat asked softly.
Concern filled her eyes as she wondered what Lan Ze was thinking about.
Lan Ze turned back to look at her and smiled. "Nothing. I was just thinking about something minor."
Tiamat blinked her bright eyes. "That goddess from today?"
She still clearly remembered how her child had secretly watched Gorgon today.
The look Lan Ze had shown then was somewhat similar to the look he had shown when asking her to replenish his mana before.
"Do you want her to replenish your mana too?" Tiamat continued.
"No... I don't think that's something just anyone can do," Lan Ze said quietly.
"And the reason I was sneaking glances today... I think that was probably just a normal male reaction."
"A normal reaction?" Tiamat repeated, confusion in her eyes.
"It means that when men see beautiful women, they can't help taking a few extra looks..." Lan Ze explained.
Tiamat raised her head and thought for a moment, then tilted her head. "Would you do that to me too?"
That sounded more like she was asking: would you want to make a move on your mother?
Lan Ze shook his head. "How could that be... I'm an upright man."
What upright man would have improper thoughts about Mother of All?
Would you?
Lan Ze didn't know about anyone else, but he knew that he would.
"Senpai!"
At that moment, a crisp voice came from below the roof. Lan Ze looked down and saw that it was Mashu.
She was dressed from head to toe in tightly wrapped clothes, yet for some reason, she still gave off an inexplicably alluring air. From Lan Ze's angle, he happened to have a perfect view of her modestly curved chest.
"Let's head down first?" Lan Ze asked, turning back.
Tiamat nodded gently. When Lan Ze jumped down from the roof, she followed and floated lightly down after him.
"Mother, come here, over here!"
The moment they landed, a hand suddenly landed on Tiamat's shoulder from behind.
Tiamat turned her head slightly and saw Ishtar, her face flushed as she burped drunkenly. The goddess enthusiastically wanted to drag Tiamat into the house to drink with everyone.
The goddess had clearly become much bolder after drinking. Normally, even if she had ten times the courage, she might not dare put her hand on Tiamat's shoulder like that.
Tiamat seemed somewhat troubled. She turned to look at Lan Ze, only to see the boy smile at her. "Go on. Everyone wants to chat with you too."
This was also a good chance to let her know that not everyone feared her. Everyone liked a Creation Mother Goddess like her.
While Tiamat was still hesitating, Ishtar had already dragged her into the house while burping. "Don't be so shy, Mother. Come on, come on. You're the star of the day."
I wonder if Ishtar will bash her head against a tree and want to die once she sobers up, Lan Ze silently ridiculed as he watched Tiamat enter the house half-willingly, half-reluctantly alongside the unusually energetic Ishtar.
Then, looking at the lively atmosphere inside, he could not help sighing.
"This is nice."
If not for the Dark Night Sun Ship going wrong, and if he had not happened to enter the Dreamscape under the system's prompt, he probably would never have seen a scene like this in his lifetime.
The Heroic Spirits and gods gathered around Tiamat, Gilgamesh, who had just entered the house and seemed somewhat uncomfortable upon seeing Tiamat, and Tiamat herself, who seemed to be gradually getting used to everyone's warmth.
It'd be absurd if this system didn't unlock an achievement for me.
Lan Ze complained inwardly.
The current ending had clearly undergone earth-shaking changes from the original story, yet the system was acting as though it were dead, without even the slightest achievement notification.
When he had first met Ereshkigal, it had at least given him a Holy Grail.
Games really were all the same. The benefits were good at the beginning, but the longer you played, the stingier they got.
Mashu tilted her head toward Lan Ze. After hesitating for a moment, she finally could not help asking, "By the way, Senpai, are you and Lady Tiamat really lovers...?"
Lan Ze reined in his thoughts slightly and glanced back at the girl beside him. Her clear, crystalline eyes brimmed with curiosity, as though she truly cared about the answer.
After pondering for a moment, Lan Ze said, "Don't believe rumors, don't spread rumors. Those who understand, understand."
"?"
As Mashu slowly produced a question mark, Lan Ze had already lightly patted her shoulder, then walked into the house and sat directly beside Tiamat.
Everyone was being far too enthusiastic toward Tiamat. He was a little worried that she would not be able to handle such passionate greetings, so he had to help deal with it appropriately.
Time passed soundlessly. Before they knew it, the sky outside had grown even deeper and darker.
Inside the house, cups and plates lay scattered everywhere. Much of the wine on the table had spilled, only a small portion of the cake remained, and after the revelry, everyone began snoring in their sleep.
"Let's go back," Lan Ze said. When he saw Tiamat nod gently, her face slightly flushed with intoxication, his heartbeat suddenly accelerated beyond his control.
...Damn, why do I feel like Mother of All is even prettier than usual tonight?
Tiamat had clearly drunk quite a lot tonight. He could tell from the way she had begun to sway her head back and forth.
Lan Ze thought for a moment, bent down, and said over his shoulder, "You drank quite a bit today. Let me carry you back."
Tiamat hesitated briefly, but eventually walked behind Lan Ze. She placed her fair, tender thighs in his hands, and her full body naturally pressed against his back. She gently swayed her head and made an "Aaa" sound.
But Lan Ze did not understand her this time... because she was drunk and only talking nonsense.
Rather than speaking to Lan Ze, Tiamat currently seemed more like she was acting spoiled.
Carrying the babbling Tiamat on his back, Lan Ze entered the room under the guidance of Siduri, the chief priestess.
This place had clearly been "purified." The instant he stepped inside, he could feel a sacred aura enveloping him.
According to Siduri, the room had indeed been purified by the priests. It could dispel certain unclean things and cleanse one's soul.
Lan Ze truly felt purified. His eyes were exceptionally innocent at this moment. After carrying Tiamat into the room, he lifted her onto the bed and laid her down.
The woman's clothes were slightly disheveled. As she breathed softly, her chest rose and fell faintly.
Lan Ze's gaze swept over her body for a moment before he withdrew it.
He raised his head and coughed lightly. "Siduri, if there's nothing else, you can go rest first."
Siduri hesitated. "But Mr. Lan Ze, your room isn't here..."
Lan Ze raised his utterly untainted eyes. "Go get some rest first. I intend to chat with Mother a little longer."
Siduri froze, glanced at the slightly drunk Tiamat, and hesitated.
This was no joke. Leaving the Creation Mother Goddess alone in a room with a man when she had clearly drunk too much... although sobering up would probably take her only an instant, it still did not seem particularly safe.
"Don't worry. If Mother objected, she would have driven me away long ago." Seeing what Siduri was thinking, Lan Ze smiled. "Do you distrust me that much?"
Siduri gazed into Lan Ze's clear, crystalline eyes. In the end, she gave a slight bow and left the room.
After watching Siduri leave, Lan Ze turned his gaze back to Tiamat.
"Mother..." he called softly.
Tiamat did not respond. She seemed to be sleeping especially peacefully tonight. Even though she had gone through a dangerous battle... well, perhaps it had not been all that dangerous. In any case, this was the most comfortably she had ever slept.
At least, since Lan Ze had known her, this was the first time he had seen such a serene expression on Tiamat's face.
"Mother~" Lan Ze called softly again.
He was hungry and wanted to replenish his mana. He had forged the Chains of Heaven today but had not replenished his mana afterward. He was still in a state of mana deficiency.
However, Tiamat ignored Lan Ze. She let out a drunken burp and gave a tiny "Aaa" call.
"Sigh... looks like I'll have to fend for myself?" Lan Ze sighed. His gaze lingered on the woman for quite some time before flicking toward her ample bosom.
Come to think of it, why did the atmosphere tonight feel a little... ambiguous?
Lan Ze suddenly realized something. Only now did he notice that the mood in this room felt rather like a couple renting a room together.
Although ordinary people would have no impure thoughts after being purified by the priests, possessing only the purest of hearts.
Lan Ze... was clearly not an ordinary person.
He had the purest of hearts. It was just that his pure heart currently purely wanted to go a step further with Tiamat.
