Background / History

The Taisui Flame accompanied Shen Shihuang when he transmigrated to the Dou Qi Continent. Shen believes that he touched the origin of time during transmigration, causing him to acquire a Heavenly Flame born from time’s void. Unlike ranked Heavenly Flames, it was initially immature and absent from the Heavenly Flame Ranking. 3 4

Its defining nature is assimilation. Rather than permanently merging multiple complete flames within its host, it absorbs their Origin Flame Seed energy and reproduces their abilities within itself. Wu Ci identifies this nature as the Taisui Infinite Flame, explaining that it may temporarily contain another Exotic Flame but will never coexist with one as an equal. 25

The flame’s origin proved fragmented. Fengxiao Shiyan was revealed as its negative counterpart, while the Earth-Fiend Heaven-Tearing Python and an altar in the Ancient Venerable Abyss contained additional Taisui Flame origin. Wu Ci later disclosed that Shen Shihuang’s flame is the central and most important Origin Flame Seed, but a complete Taisui Flame requires eight additional Origin Flame Seeds. 30 45 46 105

Five of those origins can be created through resonance with special constitutions. Such resonance draws out heart fire and can form a Heavenly Flame linked to the constitution; when six related flames are gathered, they can form the Myriad Generations Imperial Flame, the Taisui Flame’s strongest stated form. 106

Appearance

The Taisui Flame normally appears as a pure, abyssal black fire. After assimilating other flames, faint traces of their colors and forms can emerge within its black body. 3 115

The Taisui Flame can transform into a cauldron-like vessel that temporarily stores another Exotic Flame within Shen Shihuang’s body. This allows him to use a contained flame while preserving the Taisui Flame’s supremacy. 25
