"It was not the descendant of a god. I could not think of any other reason why he would be so monstrously gifted. This talent... was unprecedented." Xu Lin trembled with excitement.
He was almost certain that Yun Ze would surpass Yun Ming in the future and become the continent's undisputed number one. Perhaps he might even have a chance... to become a god.
The thought made him even more excited. Shrek had attained its current status because it had produced gods before.
If they produced one in the future as well, they would truly be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Shrek. Surpassing it might not even be impossible.
"Haha, I'm going to become the greatest principal in the history of Sun Moon Royal Academy!" Xu Lin was ecstatic.
Even if Yun Ze did not become a god, Xu Lin might still have a chance to break through the bottleneck of a Ninth Level Soul Tool Creator and become a Tenth Level Soul Tool Creator, comparable to a god.
Either way, as the one who had discovered Yun Ze's talent, he would leave a bold mark in the academy's history.
Yun Ze ignored Principal Xu Lin's burning gaze. Once he had recovered his Soul Power, he continued engraving the formation arrays.
With the main component completed, engraving the auxiliary components was much easier. He worked extremely quickly, completing one every seven or eight minutes.
More than three hours later, Yun Ze finished assembling it and created his first Soul Tool: a Third Level Soul Guidance Ray Gun.
"Principal, please confirm it." Yun Ze looked it over for a while before handing it to Xu Lin. He was fairly calm, without much excitement or joy.
"I watched you make it. I know perfectly well whether it succeeded. On behalf of Sun Moon Royal Academy, I welcome you as a student."
"After enrolling, you may do as you please. Treat the academy as your home. Come to me whenever you need anything." Xu Lin beamed.
Though he said that, he still took the ray gun. He was not checking whether it had succeeded, but rather testing its power.
Yun Ze and Gu Yue Na exchanged smiles.
Xu Lin led them to a special room. Its layout was simple, containing only several metal instruments.
"Biu." A ray shot from the barrel and arrived in an instant, striking the center of the red target. Text immediately appeared on the display screen beside it.
Destructive power: Soul Ancestor level. Can be blocked by the full defense of a Level Forty-Four defense-type Soul Ancestor or a Level Forty-Seven assault-type Soul Ancestor. Can be blocked by the full defense of a Level Fifty-One agility attack-type Soul King or a Level Sixty-Two support-type Soul Emperor. Firing speed... Probability of evasion by agility attack-type Soul Masters... Overall evaluation: Mid-grade Fourth Level Soul Tool.
The test results appeared as data. Even Xu Lin, who had been mentally prepared, could not help feeling astonished upon seeing them.
Just as he had guessed, the Soul Guidance Ray Gun possessed power at the level of a Fourth Level Soul Tool.
"Yun Ze, can you sell this Soul Tool to me? I want to carefully study the formation arrays within it," Xu Lin said excitedly.
The formation arrays Yun Ze had improved held great research value and sparked a strong desire in him to study them.
"The materials originally belonged to you, Principal. If you want the Soul Tool made from them, you may simply take it. There is no need to speak of buying it," Yun Ze said. "Haha, you sure know how to talk, kid." Principal Xu Lin laughed happily. "You turned these metals into a more valuable Soul Tool. I will not take advantage of you. This is for you."
Xu Lin took a red engraving knife from his Storage Ring. Tiny formation arrays were carved into its blade, and its surface was crimson red, as if flames had been dyed onto it. "The Fire Pattern Engraving Knife? Principal, isn't this a little too precious?" Yun Ze did not reach out to take it. "You recognize this engraving knife?" Xu Lin asked in surprise. "I read about it in a book. It ranks nineteenth on the Engraving Knife List and can increase the power of fire-type Soul Tools by nearly half."
"When used by a fire-element Soul Tool Creator, it reduces the difficulty of inscribing formation arrays by around twenty percent and also lowers Soul Power consumption."
"For a fire-element Soul Tool Creator, this engraving knife is worth at least a hundred million. It is too precious. I cannot accept it," Yun Ze said. "You really are incredibly knowledgeable, kid. I now believe you have a photographic memory. Otherwise, it would be impossible for you to know so much."
Xu Lin grew increasingly impressed with Yun Ze. Then he deliberately put on a stern expression and said, "Why can't you accept it? This is also my gift to welcome you. Do not worry about how valuable it is. Just take it."
If it had been anyone else, he would never have given away such a precious Fire Pattern Engraving Knife. But Yun Ze was different. For a super genius like him, what was one Fire Pattern Engraving Knife if it could help build a closer relationship? "I'll buy this Fire Pattern Engraving Knife from you for one hundred and thirty million Federal Currency. Only then can I accept it with a clear conscience. Otherwise, forget it."
After pondering for a moment, Yun Ze spoke. He had his own principles and would not casually accept gifts from others. They might appear to be free, but in truth, they demanded a favor in return. Money was easy to earn, but favors were hard to repay. Compared to owing someone a favor, he would rather pay directly. "You really are stubborn, kid. Why not just accept it? Do you think I lack one hundred and thirty million Federal Currency?" Xu Lin said. He knew Yun Ze likely had a powerful background and could afford one hundred and thirty million Federal Currency, but he did not want to take the money. He wanted to give it to him. Besides, the boy had calculated it accurately. The Fire Pattern Engraving Knife's maximum value was roughly one hundred and thirty million. In fact, Xu Lin was getting a slight advantage, because while that was its ceiling price, its actual auction price would most likely be lower.
"No." Yun Ze shook his head firmly. "If you have nothing else, Principal, I'll be leaving first."
As he spoke, he turned to leave. The engraving knife was indeed good and would help him in the future, but if it came with a favor owed, then he would rather forget it.
"Wait!" Xu Lin hurriedly called after Yun Ze. He strode over, stopped in front of him, and held out the engraving knife helplessly. "Remember to give me the one hundred and thirty million Federal Currency."
Yun Ze smiled faintly and accepted the engraving knife. "Give me your account number. I'll transfer it before tonight."
Xu Lin directly took out his Federal savings card. "Transfer the money to this card."
He showed Yun Ze the card number, intending to use the opportunity to test the boy's memory.
"That's enough." Yun Ze looked for less than five seconds before shifting his gaze away. After giving Xu Lin some basic information, he and Gu Yue Na took the elevator away. After seeing them off, Xu Lin returned to his office and dialed a number. "Come to my office."
A few minutes later, a middle-aged man entered Xu Lin's office and stood respectfully, waiting for the principal's instructions. "Go to Star Moon City and investigate this boy. I want to know his detailed background." Xu Lin handed Yun Ze's registration form to the middle-aged man. "Yes." The man responded. After Xu Lin gave him a few instructions, he dismissed him. Once the man had left, Xu Lin made another call. "Tomorrow night, I am convening the academy's highest-level meeting."
"Immediately notify every member of the council. They must all attend. No one is permitted to be absent."
After that, Xu Lin made another call. This time, his tone became gentle and respectful. "Teacher, the academy will be holding its highest-level meeting tomorrow night. I would like you to attend as well."
"Why are you holding another highest-level meeting? Didn't you hold one for that girl Gu Yue Na not long ago?" An old, surprised voice came through the phone. "Tell me what it is about. If it is not important enough, this old man will not come. I am busy with research."
"This matter is somewhat related to Gu Yue Na as well..." Xu Lin began explaining patiently. After hearing everything, the person on the other end remained silent for a long time. Finally, his voice trembled slightly. "Little Xu, is everything you said true?"
"Of course it is true. Would I dare lie to you, Teacher?" Xu Lin said seriously. "I will arrive on time tomorrow night. Have that boy attend the highest-level meeting as well. I want to meet him."
"Alright," Xu Lin answered respectfully. If you enjoy this, please vote and add it to your favorites. Thank you, everyone!
