Ten days later, Ling Yi once again set out on the road away from home, carrying a wooden box on his back that was forty centimeters long and wide and about fifty centimeters tall, with a cloth bundle in his hand.
Inside the bundle were only some spare clothes, dry rations, and the like. Inside the wooden box, however, were two large "Blue Silver Grass" plants that resembled small shrubs, as well as one tiny "Blue Silver Grass" that had only just sprouted, its leaves still tender, pale blue verging on white.
Though there were two large and one small, the interior of the wooden box on Ling Yi's back had been divided with wooden slats shaved from Iron Birch. The slats were inserted upright one by one, evenly partitioning it into three spaces of the same size.
The difference was that in the three separate spaces, the soil provided for the three "Blue Silver Grass" plants varied considerably in composition.
First was the smallest one, the tiny "Blue Silver Grass" that had only sprouted a few days ago.
The soil around its roots was fairly ordinary. Ling Yi had dug it up from the ridge by Zhang Family Fish Pond, then sifted it carefully to ensure there were no large stones, wild grass seeds, insect eggs, or anything of the sort inside. After that, he mixed in a handful of fine river sand to serve as a seedbed.
As the only seed left behind by that three-hundred-some-year-old "Blue Silver Grass" which had offered itself up to Ling Yi, this little thing was worth Ling Yi spending some thought on, creating the most suitable environment for "Blue Silver Grass" to grow.
As for the other two shrub-like "Blue Silver Grass" plants, they were two of the five remaining three-hundred-year-old "Blue
