Power Progression

Ling Yi’s Martial Soul

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Ordinary Blue Silver Grass 88 Retrospectively described as resembling ordinary grass when first awakened. Ling Yi began with half a level of Innate Soul Power 674.
Enlarged Blue Silver Grass 48 88 Absorbed his First Soul Ring from a personally cultivated plant over three hundred years old. The Martial Soul became an oversized version of its original form.
Thousand-year origin 86 88 Absorbing the eight-hundred-year Dodder · Blue Silver Grass, A Luo, fundamentally strengthened its origin. Its form became a roughly 1.5-meter blue vine with three slender branches.
Over four-thousand-year origin 205 Its essence passed the four-thousand-year mark. Ling Yi extended spiritual power through its vines to connect with surrounding original and mutated plants.
Peak duke rank — 9,999 years 253 256 After obtaining a Fourth Soul Ring from 9,999-year Light Blue Silver Grass, the Martial Soul’s origin stood at the barrier below king rank.
Azure Wood · Blue Silver King 309 326 338 Advanced through the recognition of surrounding Blue Silver Grass and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well’s extreme energies. Subsequently manifested its own Blue Silver Domain.
Green Wood · Blue Silver Emperor — 100,000 years 415 416 Recognition from Ah Yin’s Martial Soul and Blue Silver Grass across the continent raised its origin from slightly over 49,000 years to 100,000 years. Ling Yi’s Soul Power rose from level fifty-nine to sixty.

Species Grades and Thresholds

Cultivation age can increase much faster than calendar age: Ling Yi raised plants from roughly three hundred to eight hundred years of cultivation in a little over four years 86.

Cultivation age / Grade Documented characteristics
Below fifty years Remains an ordinary plant without Soul Power fluctuations, despite increasing vitality 88.
Around fifty years Develops a trace of Soul Power, but its apparent Soul Ring is not yet genuine 88.
Eighty to ninety years Accumulated Soul Power can barely form a genuine white ten-year Soul Ring 88.
Hundred-year level Develops hazy consciousness and produces a Soul Ring equal in quality to that of other Hundred-Year Soul Beasts. Ling Yi calls this leader class 49 88.
Thousand-year level — Blue Silver Marquis category A broad grade used in later Martial Soul theory. Its entry rank is Baron 674.
Three-thousand-year level — Viscount An intermediate noble rank within the thousand-year category 674.
Five-thousand-year level — Earl Also the minimum age classified as “high-age” Blue Silver Grass in the Lingyun Realm 674 684.
9,999 years — Peak duke / Quasi-King The final barrier before becoming a Blue Silver King 206 685.
Ten-thousand-year level — Blue Silver King Achieved by original-attribute, fire-attribute, and ice-attribute specimens cultivated by Ling Yi 338.
Hundred-thousand-year level — Blue Silver Emperor Ah Yin’s original Soul Beast rank and the rank eventually attained by Ling Yi’s Martial Soul 415 416.

Appearance

  • Ordinary plants: Pale-blue leaves; generally inconspicuous enough to be dismissed as weeds 86 172.
  • Older specimens: Can develop thicker stems, broader and longer leaves, and dense growth resembling several plants clustered together 86.
  • Iron Birch variety: Blue-gray stems and leaves with a metallic sheen 86.
  • Dodder variety: Pale blue approaching white 86.
  • Ah Yin’s Martial Soul: Translucent blue crystal or sapphire-like grass marked with fine golden veins 67 565.

Biology and Cultivation

Vitality and Consciousness

  • Ordinary Blue Silver Grass follows a seasonal cycle: sprouting in spring, flourishing in summer, withering in autumn, and leaving roots underground through winter 33.
  • Plants below the hundred-year level lack consciousness and even the concept of pain. At a hundred years, they begin expressing simple feelings such as closeness, comfort, and affection 49.
  • Soul Power nourishes this emerging awareness by converting external spiritual Qi and environmental energy into usable nourishment 49.
  • Climate influences its attributes. Cold currents leave much of the Heaven Dou Empire’s Blue Silver Grass with traces of ice affinity 566.

Accelerated Growth

  • Ling Yi accelerates growth with Soul Power nourishment, spiritual resonance, Martial Soul mimicry, and life force gathered from other Blue Silver Grass 48.
  • Growth still encounters aptitude barriers. Of his original 204 plants, 198 stalled at a bottleneck, while six advanced after more than a month of intensive treatment 48.
  • Fertilizer can produce unusual varieties: Iron Birch Tree sawdust contributed to A Hua’s development, while Maiden Luo Grass vines produced A Luo 86.
  • Ling Yi later used the Abundant Vitality · Spirit Gathering Formation Diagram and surrounding plants’ collective presence to weaken the thousand-year barrier of four 999-year specimens 116.
  • A higher-ranking ruler can return benefits to surrounding plants. Ling Yi’s king-level breakthrough increased their cultivation ages, helped some overcome innate limits, and elevated three specimens into Blue Silver Kings 338.

Regeneration After Soul Ring Formation

  • Ling Yi’s first Soul Ring was drawn out without uprooting its source plant 48.
  • A Lan regrew from the seed left by that plant and exceeded six hundred years of cultivation within a little over four years. Her previous ten-year and hundred-year barriers no longer obstructed her 86.
  • A Luo likewise left a seed after merging into Ling Yi’s Martial Soul as his Second Soul Ring 86.
  • Ah Yin explains that the plants supplying Ling Yi’s first four rings did not die completely: most of their consciousness survived in seeds. Ling Yi removed the consciousness remaining in the rings and refined them with his own power 368.

The Lingyun Auction publicly demonstrated variants bearing metal, wood, water, fire, earth, light, darkness, ice, poison, and blood attributes 504.

Abilities & Skills

Mimicry Cultivation Environment

Dense Blue Silver Grass growth supports cultivation by compatible Martial Souls 32.

  • Ling Yi attributed his early growth from half a level of Innate Soul Power to above level three partly to his village’s abundant grass 32.
  • Attribute-bearing varieties allow other cultivators to establish specialized, inexpensive cultivation grounds 155.
  • His continent-wide planting eventually turned the Douluo Continent into an enormous Mimicry Cultivation Ground for his own Martial Soul 520.

Blue Silver Domain and Signal Networks

The domain links individual plants into a network through which its user senses surrounding presences 326.

  • Ling Yi and Ah Yin initially used their Martial Soul Fusion Skill to turn plants within a dozen or so li into “eyes and ears,” with little direct combat power 218.
  • With Ah Yin and ancient Blue Silver Grass supporting him, Ling Yi extended his perception beyond three hundred li 309.
  • His signal network received Jiulan’s emergency warning from Cold Stone Town 461.
  • By his Human Immortal Body breakthrough, vitality-bearing nodes spaced roughly every hundred li supported a continent-spanning domain 566.
  • Ling Yi later considered using Blue Silver Grass and his holy embryo to connect consciousnesses in an illusory world; this was still a concept under investigation 598.

Healing and Life-Force Support

Blue Silver Grass’s defining benefit is vitality. Tang Chuan identifies the Healing System as its most suitable development path, although his own Martial Soul follows Agility Attack 678.

  • Ling Yi combined original, water, and light varieties into three manifested 9,999-year plants to heal Tie Futu. The technique rapidly depleted his Soul Power and spiritual power 206 207.
  • Ah Yin draws life force from surrounding grass to heal herself and replenish her strength during combat 204 431.
  • Emperor-level vitality can support extraordinary regeneration. The Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone’s Wildfire Cannot Burn It Away, the Spring Breeze Brings It Back to Life can restore severed limbs 204.
  • At eight or nine thousand years, a plant’s inherent vitality becomes an increasingly important part of its value as a Soul Ring, providing a powerful life-energy baptism to both bearer and Martial Soul 685.

Combat Adaptation

A Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul can develop control, poison, blade, or weapon applications according to its Soul Rings and cultivation path 661 673.

  • Ah Yin: Rapidly sprouts and enlarges plants into entangling vines through Seed of Blue Silver; also uses Toughness of Blue Silver Golden Threads and Domain of Myriad Forms 176.
  • Tang Chuan: Produces sharp, poisonous leaf blades suited to Hidden Weapon techniques. With Teacher Luo’s power, his grass transforms into a snake lance 661 669.
  • Tang San: Uses vines for entanglement and as a warning perimeter when visibility is obstructed 666 673.
  • Limits: Most attribute-bearing varieties are merely adequate compared with specialized Soul Beasts of the same attribute. Premium cultivated specimens are exceptions rather than the norm 685.

History

From Weed to Cultivated Soul Beast

Blue Silver Grass was widely dismissed as a useless Martial Soul and an ordinary weed. Even knowledgeable visitors failed to recognize the hundred-year Soul Beasts growing beside Ling Yi’s bed, because such development seemed implausible 86 172.

Ling Yi systematically cultivated thousands of plants and used selected specimens for his own Soul Rings. Meanwhile, large-scale planting spread through Cold Wind Grand Camp and the Blue Silver Territory. The territory’s residents adopted it as a symbol of humble origins, adaptability, and tenacity 48 86 113.

The Blue Silver Kingdom

By Ling Yi’s return to the Water Wood Duchy, Blue Silver Grass covered more than one hundred thousand square kilometers. Much of it descended from his cultivated seeds and retained his presence, even while acknowledging Ah Yin’s imperial bloodline 256.

Ah Yin believed this environment could naturally raise his Martial Soul to Blue Silver King. She also suspected that the duchy had become an unusual “kingdom” where some external rules no longer applied; the passage presents this as her bloodline-derived conjecture rather than an established fact 256.

Soul Ring Cultivation and Public Adoption

The Lingyun Auction made cultivated Blue Silver Grass a public alternative to Soul Beast hunting by offering seventy-two plants: sixty hundred-year specimens and twelve thousand-year specimens, ranging from two hundred to three thousand years 504.

The new supply particularly benefited lower-ranking Soul Masters. It reduced demand for low-age Soul Beasts and competition over conventional ring sources, but did not eliminate hunting. More than eighty percent of family-based factions still regarded Blue Silver Grass rings as unsuitable replacements for their established combat-oriented paths 504.

By then, Blue Silver Grass had become inseparable from Ling Yi’s public image. More than ninety percent of the continent’s population associated it with him, and its cultivation supported enough livelihoods that attempts to suppress its spread faced resistance from ordinary people, Soul Masters, and established families alike 482 569.

Lingyun Realm

In the Lingyun Realm, Blue Silver Grass became one of the realm’s primal substances. Qi and Blood · Blue Silver Grass also became an indispensable foundation of martial cultivation; its original-attribute counterpart was the only variety with larger stocks 620 685.

High-age specimens remained tightly controlled despite ordinary grass being almost limitless. After the Great Qian Empire’s founding, the empire held over ninety percent of plants aged five thousand years or more. Even imperial relatives required approval for direct grants, though merit exchanges and auctions provided other routes 684.
