The city he went to was none other than one built by Metal Life.
Though it was a massive rip-off, one had to admit that among all the great cities, those of Metal Life were the most convenient, the cleanest, and possessed the most complete systems and mechanisms.
They were genuinely expensive, but without question, their service was also the best on Central Planet.
Take Black Shadow, for instance. If he had swallowed his anger and paid up, he could actually have enjoyed a whole range of top-tier services afterward.
Unfortunately, he made a move. Not only did he have to pay more in compensation, but all his remaining services were canceled as well.
And because of that grudge, he stayed far away from anything related to Metal Life afterward, beginning an indescribably miserable life on Central Planet.
For example, the first city he went to had exceptionally hospitable residents. Not only were food, clothing, lodging, and travel all free, there were also all kinds of premium services.
The only requirement was that anyone who entered had to stay for at least a year. Naturally, the longer one stayed, the more free services one could receive.
Black Shadow had not planned to stay, but after he put his items up for sale, someone reserved them. The buyer himself was not on Central Planet, however, and needed to travel over—a journey that would take roughly three to five years.
Considering the time involved, Black Shadow simply signed a one-year agreement.
Then disaster descended.
Every night after darkness fell, an indescribable stench drifted through the city. Why was it indescribable? Because to every race, it was a smell so foul it turned the stomach.
Nor was that all. This stench could not only disgust one physically, but contaminate one's soul as well.
