Damn it!
What the hell was going on with this strange realm this time?
Why had such earth-shaking changes occurred? Not only had the Military Service Department and Langhuan Blessed Land appeared, but now even the cultivation of the 'New Method' had stopped, replaced by physical training.
Some were bewildered, cursing inwardly without end, even roaring in frustration.
It couldn't be helped. They were simply too exhausted!
Their breathing was heavy, like they were wheezing with asthma. Every last scrap of energy in their bodies was being squeezed dry.
Even so, they still dared not stop. Burdened with incomparably heavy loads, they ran as though flying, feeling as if they might die the very next moment.
Run, run, run!
Run, run, run!
They ran from sunrise to noon, then on until sunset. As they watched the setting sun sink beyond the horizon, they squandered every ounce of their youth's strength in that single moment.
At last, only after every trace of light had vanished and the surroundings had become pitch-black did they hear a voice of salvation, heavenly music to their ears.
"Today's training ends here."
Almost the instant those words fell, everyone collapsed like puppets whose strings had been cut, crumpling to the ground like heaps of mud.
Every cell in their bodies cried out in anguish. Something like lactic acid had built up in every inch of their muscles, and the unspeakable fatigue left those who had fallen without even the desire to drink a mouthful of water or eat a bite of food. They immediately wanted to pass out.
Before they could lie there dead for long, someone thoughtfully pried open their mouths and, with great gentleness, poured an entire huge jar of some unknown paste down their throats without spilling a single drop, filling their stomachs.
